This is a must stop for me when visiting my friend in San Diego. I love the exotic furniture and leather pieces. The accessories, plates and other goodies range from trendy, to ethnic to old world. The customer service has always been very good. I usually walk out with something.
I have taken my son here several times during his childhood. The display of history is fascinating. There is a cute gift shop, and on the top floor you can get a display of how to do morse code. The hand crafted boat models are very impressive. Boys love this museum
Very good fabric and crafts store. It is a large store so it stocked with lots of goodies. They always put out a great flyer with coupons. They have an attractive selection of home furnishings.
The food is reliably good. I usually get the french dip. We like sitting in the atrium area, but watch out for the occasional bird above head. My husband has had a mishap. The bakery products are very good also. Be warned it can get very busy here. Good location and plenty of parking.
When we visit Washington this is a must stop. This is where we first discovered halibut cheeks in the most entertaining fish market. Yell, toss through the air, wrap. So much fun. This also the home of the first Starbuck coffee shop. Flowers are beautiful, there is a great oil and vinegar shop, pastries, cafes. Also there is live entertainment on the sidewalks.
Been around for many years. Has a nice selection of antique furniture. Very pricey. Easy to find not very good parking. Often looks like it is closed.
This is the place for quality scuba gear and snorkeling gear. They carry cute clothes. Offer scuba classes. I have also had one of their staff come and give a fun lecture to my class on sea animals, fish, plant life, environmental protection and Sharks!
This bakery has been around for a long time. You can count on it to be reliably the same, Good. My husband has been stopping by for years to pick up pastries for his employees.
This has been a hit or miss experience shopping for construction items for remodeling our home. I have had good service to horrible. Once I was deliberately overlooked because I am a woman and talked about in Spanish in my presence. They were pretty shocked when they found out I knew what they were saying. Parking can be difficult but they have a great yard filled with brick, tile and rock. Just take your husband or male friend. Better yet ask for the manager.
This is the destination to purchase the beautiful Talavera Mexican tile that you have been wanting. The selection is enormous. They also sell hand painted sink basins, dishes, pottery, house numbers and other items. The prices are the best you can get unless you go to Mexico and get yourself. This company has also been featured in one of the episodes for Extreme Make Over - Home Edition. If you want an authentic Mexican kitchen, this is the place to look.
