The Cask
My girlsfriends and I went to The Cask the other night and had a great time. There were five of us. We order a couple of bottles reasonably priced red wines from the great wine list. The staff was very friendly, and the food was great. Cheese and cured meats.
San Mateo Yellow Cab
I work as a coordinator at a large company in the bay area. We deal with a lot of clients and their needs and taxi service is a top priority. I have had to call many taxi companies, but the one that stands out above the rest is San Mateo Yellow Cab. The dispathers are all very friendly and professional. If I need a cab immediately they will be there. If for some reason they are unable to meet my needs the will call another company pronto. I rely on San Mateo Yellow Cab and they are the best around.
Action Towing
Ok I did it again! Locked my keys in the car! I called AAA and they dispatched Action Towing. The guy was there to the rescue in a matter of 8 minutes. Took about 2 minutes to unlock my car and he did it with a smile. And a few jokes! About 2 weeks later I had a flat tire when I got to work, I wassz lucky again that AAA dispatched Action and again great service. The wait was about 15 minutes and the tire was changed in less then that. I love thses guys!
colleen's fine Jewelry
I have had the pleasure of working with Colleen of Colleen's Fine Jewelry. I was looking for a special gift for my girlfriend's 50th.
Colleen gave me some great suggestions and then she went to work finding the perfect piece I was looking for. My girlfriend is a diver and with Colleen's help we decided on a white gold starfish.
Colleen was able to get several different styles for me to choose from. Colleen is a very professional, personable and diligent individual. She will go out of her way to find exactly what you are looking for. I know get all my fine jewelry from Colleen. My husband is going to see Colleen to have a new custom made ring for our 25th anniversary.
Martha's Bike Rental
Last summer I took my youngest daughter to Boston. The weather was beautiful so we headed over to Martha's Vineyard for a bike ride. We rented bikes from Martha's Bike Rental's. They were accommodating and the bikes were functional.(crusiers). We rode on the bike path that the gentleman had so carefully mapped out for us. We hit the Gay Head lighthouse,Gingerbread Cottages in Oak Bluff, the oldest operating carousel in the country, beaches and The Mytoi Garden is in Chappaquiddick. Highly recommend Martha's Bike Rental and biking around the island.
Cabot's Candy Store
The east coast is know for it's salt water taffy. I have been to Atlantic City Boadwalk which has great taffy, but Cabot's out does NJ. I like the idea of picking out my own flavors (and there are many many to choose from) to make my box. Needless to say we walked out of this friendly, fun establishment chomping on our taffy all the way down Commercial Street. The fudge was good too!
Aunt Fannys Garage
My girls and I went to Provincetown, MA this past summer and loved it. Commercial Street is a fun place to shop. It is on the water with beautiful view. We walked into Aunt Fanny's Garage. Love the name. The 2 guys working were so friendly and hilarious.
We had funn looking at nostalgic signs (they have tons of them), some very funny mugs, dragons, gargoyles, and other knick knacky stuff. A very fun and welcoming enviroment.
Pet Elements
I stumbled on to this pet store while visiting friends in Seattle.
Always bring home a present for kitty. The have a wide range of items and the prices are very reasonable. But what I truly loved was talking to the staff. The ladies were so friendly and over the top helpful. I found the perfect gift for kitty thanks to ? I wish I could remember her name. They are all wonderful.
Market Magic & Novelty Shop
If you are in the Pike's Place Market, go down stairs by the arcade and check this shop out. I was looking for a gift for my next door neighbor and found a ton of fun. I love magic. The staff must all be trained because as you wandering around they do tricks. Very entertaining. They have typical finger cuffs, magic cards, dissappearing coins etc. Great for jokes tricks also.
Cafe Edwige
Edwige is one of the high end restaurants in Provincetown. Great bar. Cozy and warm atmosphere. I had a cosmopolitan with cranberry infused vodka. Very good. The menu features grilled food or seafood. I had the grilled tenderloin which, melted in my mouth. My girlfriend had the scallops and they were superb. We ended up there for breakfast the next day. Standard breakfast menu. All very good.
