Belmont Garage

We brought in our car to have an oxidizer replaced. We had two diagnostics previously done: one at auto zone for free and one at the local lube shop during an oil change for $39. We gave both of these (identical) printouts to the mechanic at belmont and waited for two days with no correspondence. We called them on the afternoon of the second day and were told that it would be a $600 repair at minimum .. that there may be some additional problems that they have yet to diagnose and that there were no guarantees that the new oxidizer would solve the problem. We then called our dealership, told them the code from the diagnostic, and were told it would be either covered by powertrain or up to $200. We went to pick up the car last night at 5PM and they were closed (hours 7AM-6PM). When we went to pick up the car this morning, Belmont charged me $106 for a "diagnostic" fee that consisted of them giving me a sheet with their letterhead that had the identical diagnostic information that I gave them when I dropped off the car. After arguing with them for ten minutes, I was forced to pay the $106 to get my key back.

These guys do not fix cars. They extort money from people. Please avoid this place at all costs. I cannot reiterate how unprofessional and dishonest these people are.

Don't be fooled by the location or appearance of some of the best pizza in the city. Thinner crust with excellent sauce. Be sure to also try the salads and the dolmas are incredible! Takeout only .. Highly recommended
