Spirits Unlimited is a great place with a wide selection of beer, wine, and liquor to choose from. Also, it is usually fairly priced and it is located right next to Blockbuster video so I enjoy picking up a beverage and a movie.
Country Corner is a farm market that has a deli, a garden shop, and bakery along with many other items. I personally think the pies they have are wonderful. It is a little pricey but so is everything on the island and here you are getting quality.
I would definitely recommend Camilles to anyone looking for quality flowers. They do a wonderful job on arrangements and corsages. I have been going there for years. I always get flowers for special occasions here and I am never disappointed. Really nice people work there too.
The Ocean Bay Supermarket is a tiny food store on Long Beach Island. It is pricey like most places on the island but if you need something you can probably find it there.
When I went there we got ice cream and the carton had a ton of ice on it which was kind of weird but it was still good.
I would definitely stop at one of the many supermarkets you pass on the way to the island first.
Pathmark of Manahawkin is a nice supermarket. They have a lot what the other supermarkets in town have but it is never as crowded. I like going here because you can get in and out pretty quickly as long as they have enough people on the registers. That is the only flaw.
Their seafood department is my favorite of all the supermarkets in my town. The people that work there are helpful and it is really delicious.
I have been going to this place for many years and I am never disappointed. The staff is unbelievably nice and efficient even though it is always packed. I have not had anything from here that I did not love. The bagels are not small or doughy just perfect.
If you are in the area you need to try them.
Bagels and Beyond is a nice stop in the morning for fresh hot bagels. It is mainly the kind of place to pick something up and be on your way to work, school, or wherever. Their French toast bagels are really good and so are their everything bagels. They really load on the cream cheese and butter so if you do not like that tell them. Also, their breakfast sandwiches are good.
The Surf City Bake Shop is wonderful. I love being able to satisfy my sweet tooth just a short walk from the beach. I love their alphabet cookies and their blueberry pie.
Blue Claw Seafood Market is a great little place to get fresh seafood right off the boat from Long Beach Island. Their crab cakes are delicious. It is expensive but it's fresh local seafood although it is just a market not a restaurant or anything. Also, they have homemade key lime pies which are amazing.
I went to Aunt Ollie's Ice Cream on a hot day in the summer and it was a clean, cute little ice cream place on Long Beach Island. I got ice cream in a cone and it was good but my friend wanted a smoothie. Even though they did not have smoothies the person working tried to make her something like it, sort of came out like a milkshake but let her have it for free because it was an experiment.
