Cafe Del Mar
Whether you are stopping for breakfast or an intimate dinner, you will enjoy this sidewalk bistro. The prices are very reasonable and the entrees are original. The wine selection is very acceptable and usually the service is good but at busy times, a bit slow. Not reason enough to stay away.
Pacifica Del Mar
Get a real feel for Del Mar with the great views from their terrace while you enjoy continenetal cuisine. The calamari is the perfect starter and then you will be able to choose from a variety of seafood entrees or other culinary delights. Their desserts are excellant as well.
B J's Pizza & Grill
Great salads and pizza with an open, friendly atmosphere. It might be hard to leave room for dessert but the cookie pizza is worth a little discomfort. The pizzas are deep dish and worth the wait if it's a little crowded. When you get tired of fancy food on vacation, BJ's is a great alternative.
Charlie's By The Sea
We have been going to Charlies for years and the food is wonderful and whether you are sitting on the patio having a salad or in the dining room enjoying their prime rib, you won't be disappointed. Don't forget to have dessert.
Nobu Gourmet
Wonderful neighborhood location with a good variety of Japanese favorites and unusual dishes as well. It's fun to sit at the Sushi bar or have a quiet meal in a comfortable booth. The service was very good.
Croce's Restaurant & Bars
Very popular because of the name but I think we hit it on an off night. The service was quite slow and the food only so-so. I doubt that one mediocre review will affect their business because it's a good tribute to Jim, but maybe they should be aware of these concerns.
Aqua Al Due
We went because my daughter had been to the same restaurant in Italy. The food was very good but a little over-priced. The service was good and the location is perfect for a dinner before downtown activity.
Oaxaca Restaurante & Cantina
Wonderful Mexican food high on a hill offers a great view as well. Try the chile rellenos for an extra treat or as part of a combination plate. The chips are warm and tasty and the salsa is spicy but not over the top. Don't forget a margarita to get your appetite going.
Linda's On Osborn
Home cooking at a reasonable price is their specialty. The Chef Salad is enormous and then you can top it off with dessert. I would recommend them to anyone who remembers what restaurants used to be like and to their kids that need to find out.
Moon Valley Nurseries
The staff is knowledgeable and the variety of plants and trees is good. The service is not always consistent and that can be frustrating. I have also had a problem with them backing up their products. Worth giving it a try if it's not the height of the planting season.
