We went to a birthday party here. The food was exotic. We tried ostrich, alligator, and a couple of other unusual dishes in addition to the more traditional foods. The buffet table was sumptuous, so we had plenty to eat.
How delightful to sit on the dock and watch the boats on the lake while you enjoy a cocktail or dinner. The crab cakes and pork chops we had for dinner were fantastic. We were also to an anniversary party there and it was terrific. I wish I lived closer!
I agree with everything the two other reviewers said about Nanina's. There was one problem at the wedding reception we went to. They served the coffee at about 9:45 PM but the Venetian table still wasn't ready at 10:45 PM when we finally left. Many of the guests had left the reception and they were still putting out the Venetian Table. Considering the price you pay for this, I thought it was outrageous.
The food is marvelous, but the portions are smaller than I have come to expect at an Italian restaurant. The parking lot is difficult to maneuver around in. If you can deal with the drawbacks, the food is really outstanding.
When in Hackensack you can do no better than dinner at Teggiano's. My favorite is the Shrimp and scallops marinara. The live piano music will set the scene for a truly delightful evening.
Even though this review will not count toward our fundraiser, I feel compelled to counter the evaluation of the person who was disappointed. We paid in full for our Gourmet Dinner and were thoroughly delighted with the dinner, the service and the scenery. It was a delightful experience from start to finish.
The is Meg G.'s mom verifying her statement that I certify the authenticity of Otto's German style potato salad. I you long for the flavor of your grandma's Oma's German potato salad, then go to Otto's. Good liverwurst too.
On my pediatrician's advice I brought my children to Marchesin's for their shoes from the first pair to the last one I paid for! My husband and I still buy our shoes at Marchesin's because you can trust the quality of the shoes and the expertise of the fitter.
I recuperated from knee replacement surgery at the rehabilitation facility that is part of the Morristown Memorial Hospital. It was a fantastic experience. The physical therapists know just how far to push you to get the maximum progress with the minimum of pain. The food, staff, and cleanliness are way above average.
I was at that Super Bowl party and Meg. G. is absolutely correct about the "melt-in-your-mouth" quality of that beefsteak. I hope they do it again real soon!
