El Chile Relleno
El Chile Relleno has delicious tortillas. Their fajitas for two is more than enough for two at a reasonable price! Their friendly staff was very attentive. We have been several times and will be back! It's great for business lunches (big tables) or a dinner out with the family.
Mi Luna
You can order tapas and go away satisfied. I almost did...but then I ordered the curry chicken sandwich! I'm glad I did. Now I will always go out of My Luna stuffed because I cannot just stop at the delicious tapas!
Cafe Mezza & Grille
I took my husband for his birthday lunch to this fine dining establishment. We had a hard time deciding what to have from the extensive menu. My husband had "the best chicken sandwich" he's ever had - topped with melted cheese atop an fluffy bread/bun. The side of fruit looked like it was freshly picked and cut minutes before it was served! Don't miss this Houston hot spot!
Nit Noi Thai Restaurant
I finally broke down and went with my husband to try Thai food. I wonder what took me so long. The noodle bowls seemed bottomless - with lots of fresh veggies and a savory brown gravy. The atmosphere is cozy and artsy. Bring a friend or date. Bring your mom!
Memorial Grill
Memorial Grill looks like just another restaurant when you pass it on Memorial Drive, but DO NOT pass it. They have delicious meals at reasonable prices. They are always packed at lunchtime, so go early. You must try their El Gordo. You will not be able to eat the whole thing - it's two meals! Chicken, brown rice, beans, cheese surrounded by a homemade wheat tortilla. Their dessert counter looks to die for, and we will need to go there just for that. There is no room after one of their gigantic (and healthy!) salads. Don't miss it!
Masala Wok
My husband and I started going to Masala Wok about two months ago, and we now go nearly every week! The chicken tikka is out of this world as is their naan. We wonder why we waited so long. They also have delicious wraps. The 80s music really brings me back to my youth!
Memorial Music
Memorial Music is owned and operated by Ron Hudson, a classical and flamenco guitarist. Ron knows all there is to know about which guitar will best fit your needs. When you walk in, you feel immediately at home. Unlike other guitar shops, Ron lets you browse without the feeling that you're being stalked. We were recently in the store to purchase a guitar for my husband, a classical guitarist of over 20 years, and he can't stop playing his new instrument. If you're into guitars, this is the place for you!
Blue Willow Books
Blue Willow Bookstore is just like stepping back in time. You find this little gem tucked in a busy shopping plaza on Memorial Drive in Houston. They have bestselling fiction, nonfiction, children's literature, gardening, you name it! You can browse uninterrupted, or you can be assisted by a READER! The shop hosts book clubs and well-known authors. What a find!
