N Club

N Club was the longest running club on the east coast but it is closed now. It had a large dance area and stage, bars with great drink specials and loud typical club music. They opened a "nicer" area on their second floor called the Red Room. It was meant for VIPs but anyone who bought a bottle of the expensive champagne could get up there with their friends.

Corner Bar

Greensboro, NC Bars & Pubs 03/29/08: 'On campus'

You will find The Corner Bar on the UNCG campus. Because of its proximity to campus you will most likely get carded at the door. It's filled with professors, of age undergrads and grad students. This is a cute bar with a pub or tavern like feel. If you get hungry, try the nachos.

Club Orion

Orion is in a shopping center, not where you would expect to find a nightclub, and it's a small window front that you would miss if you blinked The places is casual with good music and there's a pool table in the back. You will find the locals here rather than the college crowds.

the comedy zone

We loved going to the Comedy Zone. The tickets were not that expensive and you would see 2 comincs in a night. The parking lot is shared with a nightclub but there is still plenty of parking. The pizza sticks were the best. If you go for a show you get a coupon for $1 of your cover to the adjacent nighclub.

The Paisley Pineapple

Greensboro, NC Restaurants 03/29/08: 'Quiet bar'

The Pineapple Bar is in downtown Greensboro and a little off the main road. It's a great bar with a smaller and quieter crowd. The drinks prices weren't inflated and the ambiance is casual.

Jack Astors Bar And Grill

Jack Astor's is a great place and you can usually find a wait on the weekend. The table cloths are paper and yu are encouraged to draw and write on them in the crayons left on the table just like your waiter will do. The menu is typical burgers, chicken, ribs, sandwiches, etc. Food is good and the biscuits they bring you are the best.

George K's Restaurant

Greensboro, NC Restaurants 03/29/08: 'Just ok'

George K's is supposed to be a fancier restaurant in town. I disagree. The decor is lookng a little run down and the food was nothing to brag about. It was far too greasy and I left some on the plate and didnt even want to take any home. Bit overpriced too. But they did do bananas foster, flambe style at your table side.

Bear Rock Cafe

Greensboro, NC Delicatessens 03/29/08: 'A lunch place'

Bear Rock is an ok place to stop for lunch. It's like the Panera of the south. You stand in line to order soup, salads, or sandwiches then pick up your food and sit down at one of their several cafe like tables. The ingredients are fresh and the prices are moderate. This Bear Rock is conveniently located in the Friendly Shopping Center.

Pen Ryn Mansion

I went to a wedding here. The grounds were beautiful and the mansion was a gorgeous setting. The cocktail hour was in 3 separate rooms (2 of which had bars and the third was more like the foyer) this made it difficult to mingle and move through the 3 rooms with the crowd. The larger reception rooms were great and the food, superb.
