Grand Union Family Markets

Provincetown, MA Grocery Stores 03/27/08: 'Everything you need to stock up.'

This is the place to go to grab fresh fruit, cheese and crackers, sandwiches, cooked shrimp, Portuguese bread, baked goods and anything else you'll need to picnic at the beach or take back to your room or camp. The prices are in your average grocery store range. I would shop there over the ACME here at home anyday. They make a good Hoagie.

Breakwater Motel & Apartments

I've been going to this place for 30 years and can not find another that I like better. You can get a room looking out over the bay and just sit back and relax or cross over 6A and walk the beach that grows quite large at low tide. You can enjoy the pool next door at a much more expensive chain on hot days if the beach is not on your list. They have a poolside gill with cocktails that makes an enjoyable mid day treat.

Spiritus Pizza

Provincetown, MA Pizza Restaurants 03/27/08: 'The place to meet'

The pizza is good by Philly standards, it is especially good for New England who doesn't quite have the tossing thing down pat. The fun part is that everyone gathers out front and you can be seen by those you left at home on the web cam.

Mayflower Cafe

Provincetown, MA Restaurants 03/27/08: 'Don't miss it.'

I do not leave P-Town without having a bowl of Portuguese Soup at the Mayflower. This is a family restaurant that serves very good food at reasonable prices. I have never had a bad meal here in 30 years. Come early on week-ends to get a table because everyone else knows this is a "must stop".

Provincetown Portuguese Bakery

03/27/08: 'Wonderful!'

Stop in to grab a local treat of fried dough sprinkled with sugar FRESH AND HOT. You can see them being made through the front window. There are several Portuguese delights that you buy by the slice and everyone is worthy of your vote. Breakfast is made for those who stop in early or if you'd like lunch pick up a sandwich and some kale soup!

Shop Therapy

Provincetown, MA Novelty Stores 03/27/08: 'Not for everyone.'

This shop is what you'd expect in a town that is VERY diverse. Interesting is an understatement. Certainly not a store that you would take the kids in. It lives up to the name and if you happen to wonder upstairs keep an out mind. You have been warned!

MacLac Enterprises Inc

Block Island, RI Grocery Stores 03/27/08: 'Get what you need.'

This is a good place to stop by to grab some things to take back to the room for a snack. You can have a sandwich made, cheese and crackers, wine, whatever you need for a picnic while you explore the island. The items are a little over priced but still a good stop to shop for a few things that you couldn't/wouldn't pack.
