Sushiland

Seattle, WA Sushi Restaurants | 03/19/08: 'Sushi on the go!'

Conveyor style sushi restaurant (not enough of these around here). Food is decent but not the best, but it is super cheap, I am a hardcore sushi eater, where at a nice sushi restaurant i can spend upwards of $70 in one sitting, but at Sushiland i rarely spend more than $15. It still after many years is my favorite place to eat sushi with friends a very fun environment. A small place, it can get very crowded sometimes, that's why sometimes I go to the one in Bellevue, where the seating is a bit more economical.

Highly recommend for family and friends.

Topolinos Pizza

Bellevue, WA Pizza Restaurants | 03/19/08: 'Classic New York Pizza'

I love this place. Although it is rather small, their pizza packs a punch, easily the best I've ever had in the area. I actually know the owner's son and I can assure you, when it comes to pizza, these guys know what their doing. Excellent value, especially if you order of the specials menu.

I don't really want to recommend anything, because everyone likes their pizza different, but i just want to let everyone know that the pizza with the clams on it (weird, i know) was absolutely amazing, I was hesitant to try it at first but my buddy made me do it and it truly opened my eyes.

Seattle Raft & Kayak

SRK is my favorite kayak store in the Seattle area, the employees are very knowledgeable, they have a great location, and my favorite, an excellent rental and demo center. This place is the whole reason i got into Whitewater kayaking, rented gear from them a few times and have always been very pleased with the service.I do believe their specialty is flat water, being right on Lake Washington in the historic Warren G Magnuson Park on Sand Point.
I do recommend them for if you're thinking of getting into the sport of kayaking, I can assure you you wont be disappointed. It's the only place I go to get geared up.

Las Margaritas

Bellevue, WA Mexican Restaurants - Bellevue, WA Bars & Clubs | 03/19/08: 'Huge Portioned Mexican Food'

When i say huge, i mean HUGE, HUGE, HUGE! Make sure you fast for at least three days prior or you wont finish your meal. The prices are very good, (Take advantage of their combo plates) for the portions you get. Service was excellent and quick. A good family sit down. This is where me and my friends usually go before we see a movie at the nearby Lincoln Square theater. Overall a very enjoyable place. Do recommend.

Teriyaki Bowl

Bellevue, WA Japanese Restaurants | 03/19/08: 'Quick and easy. And not half bad.'

Teriyaki Bowl, is where I go if i need a quick fix lunch of good hearty food. I started going here during my lunches in High School, because they have the best teriyaki in the area for the price, and the speed of service. When I'm there I get the feeling of it being a "local" spot, usually seeing at least one or two people I know. A perfect place for lunch. Don't let the location fool you, crammed right between a smoke shop and a Quizno's in a strip mall, this place is legit.

They have very big portions, of the standard meat, rice and salad that you usually see at Asian plate lunch spots. The portions are big enough that much of the time i can't finish in one sitting, which is saying a lot considering I'm a starving college student. Best of all they don't completely overload on rice like they do at other places.

Recommend the General Tsao's Chicken, Beef Short Ribs, Yakisoba.

Ginza

Bellevue, WA Japanese Restaurants | 03/19/08: 'My Japanese Alamo'

This restaurant is the rock and anchor in my life, the only place that i can rely on time and time again for delicious food and prices that a meager college student budget like mine can handle. I put eating at Ginza on the important list somewhere between paying taxes and breathing. Needless to say I love it. I used to think it was my little secret too, tucked away behind the main part of Old Bellevue, out of sight of the prying eyes of the swarming crowd Bellevue-ite wannabe cultured restaurant patrons waiting for the next great restaurant they can rob of its innocence. Last night for the first time in the last 3 or so years I've been enjoying Ginza I was unable to get an instant walk in seating, which of course, left me heart broken (I do usually eat lunch there). Get there at the right time of day though and it can be your little private Japanese paradise, just you, your waiter and your chef, and the food of the Gods. Almost everything on the menu (most of which I've had) is completely indescribable. If you can reach nirvana by eating delicious food, then this will be the place my soul leaves my body behind, in my comfy little chair at my favorite table with a half chewed bite of spider roll in my mouth. I'm going against all my better judgment in sharing my love of Ginza with all you, but i feel as if you all will respect my Eden, the way I have for these few years I've enjoyed it. And if you don't then God help you I better not be around when you don't.

Maggianos Little Italy

Bellevue, WA Italian Restaurants | 03/19/08: 'Meh...'

I went to Maggiano's with a friend of mine who had recently quit as a waiter from there, and honestly, the only reason i went along was because he promised me a free dessert. Who am I to turn that offer down? I let my friend order for me because apparently he knew what was good there and I couldn't make up my mind, so i ended up with a pulled pork sandwich (we are poor college students who can't afford the rib-eye!). The sandwich was decently priced for what I got, about $10, which would have been pretty good but it was delivered cold. The free dessert we got was a GIANT piece of chocolate cake that we could barely get a quarter of the way through before giving up. I can't really tell you about the service because my friend knew everyone there so we got relatively special treatment and we felt more like guests at their homes which was nice but kind of awkward in front of hundreds of other diners who I can only imagine thought we were famous or something, having waitresses sit at our table and chat with us for a while until the manager would shoo them off back to work. But all in all I was still left uninspired and most likely wont go out of my way to eat there again. Unless of course there's free dessert and VIP treatment again.

I Love Sushi

By far my favorite sushi restaurant I've ever had the pleasure of dining at. Sushi is easily my favorite type of cuisine, and after going to many of the other places in the Seattle area, I Love Sushi is still my favorite sushi restaurant. Everything is so fresh and delicious albeit a little pricey, but here, you get what you pay for. Been eating there for about 5 years and will never stop.
