I go to Taddeo for my vegetables in the spring and have always had great success. There is a limited variety, but the plants are healthy and strong. There are also a great selection of flowers. They also sell pumpkins and fall decoration and christmas trees. These products can be expensive, but are of high quality. They are freshly cut from a local grower. Extremely friendly and personable service.
I was a patient of Dr. Bevacqua until she retired and was replaced by Dr. Goodchild. I was nervous about the switch, but have been quite happy. Dr. Goodchild is very friendly and gentle. He was willing to discuss my ideas and concerns for my dental treatment and follow my preferences. He is also very accommodating for my kids when they have been present during my appointments. The office staff and the hygenists are very helpful as well.
I was shopping around all the local bike shops this spring and ended up buying from M&M. I was able to talk to the same guy each of the times I went with questions and to try the bikes. He was extremely helpful, explaining the different possibilities and options since I was not decided what I wanted going in. He took time to answer all my questions and show me how to adjust to different bikes. They mainly carry Jamis bikes. I was impressed with the quality of the bikes and interested that they are made locally - in New Jersey. I have been back to the shop for accessories and tune up. The bike has been a great investment.
When my son needed a bike tune-up quickly, Mainly Bikes was able to do it for us. Other bike shops would have taken weeks to get it done in the spring, but here they were able to get it done at an extremely reasonable price. When unexpected broken components were found, I was contacted to discuss possible solutions and the prices.
This little bike shop is a gem.
Dr. Schocker is an extremely warm and gentle pediatric dentist. She takes her time to explain any procedures or findings to me. The office was recently renovated and is complete with books and computer games to keep the kids occupied waiting before their visit, which has never been long. The hygienists and office staff have also been helpful and good with the kids and with me.
My sons participated in the week-long summer soccer camp last June and had a good time. My 5 year old especially liked working with the lively high schoolers.
We decided to try a team this spring. The season starts this weekend. We just received an email for the coach this week and on Wednesday found out exactly when and where the kids would be getting together. This has made it difficult to make plans for this weekend. There is also not yet a schedule of when or where the games will be for the following weeks. Frustrating. It does not seem to be very organized from our point of view.
Hopefully the quality of the experience will surpass the impression I have so far.
Sang Kee is a nice casual place in the Whole Foods shopping center. The space is very open and becomes loud very quickly. It was especially crowded and crazy once when I went on a Friday night. I preferred the calmer, quieter week nights. The food has always been delicious and my kids have always found dishes that please their limited palettes. Take out is also available.
I had dinner here on a quiet weeknight. For most of the meal, my husband and I were the only customers at the restaurant. The restaurant is dark with cushions spread around the low, round tables and cloth hanging around, giving the area a tent-like feeling. The menu is all Moroccan dishes. There is a several course meal available. It looked delicious, but too much for us. We ordered a la carte. We shared a fabulous salad plate with hummus, baba ganoush, carrots and plenty of bread to mop it all up. for the main courses, the couscous was quite good and the roasted chicken was quite ordinary. Our server was extremely friendly and talked to us about Morocco and her family and life there. Evidently, the place is really hot on the nights when there is belly dancing.
I regularly go to the Head Nut and stock up on the bulk items we use regularly. Oatmeal, tea, chocolate, dry milk, popcorn, nut butters, spices, herbs. You find them all here. Other hard to find items can be found here: sweeteners, various types of flours, dried fruits. Everything that I have gotten has been fresh and good quality and good price. The people working at The Head Nut are extremely friendly and always ready to chat when we are there. There is also candy, candy, candy, so beware going with small children who are at just the right height to stick hands into jars near the check-out.
We had our hardwood floors refinished by Vincents. They did the entire house, the first and second floors and the stairs. The floors had been washed, bleached and mistreated before we lived here and Vincent brought them back to their original beauty. The workers were efficient and polite. They replaced boards that needed to be changed or completed. Before choosing Vincent, we received several estimates and his was mid-range. We were impressed with him during the estimate. Their work is high quality.
