With its' large inviting space, numerous TVs broadcasting all major sports, and other entertainment diversions that drinkers love, Khartoum is the perfect local bar in Campbell to spend an afternoon in over a few beers and whiskey shooters. We've spent many a day doing just that and the amicable staff doesn't even care when we stumble a bit across the floor to grab another round from the bar, just as long as we don't actually fall because even though Campbell is one of the friendliest town to drink in, they still have to adhere to some laws
Great setting, great drinks, cool staff, and the food isn't too bad either.
This place is nice. It's everything that a pub should be; warm, loud, fun, and filled with interesting people. The only drawback is that the food is just OK - not anything amazing. But the drinks and the atmosphere more than makes up for it.
Wednesday's trivia night is fun also, if you're into that sort of thing.
My wife and I visited the River Terrace on our Wedding and 1st Anniversary. After staying here, I can not imagine staying elsewhere while in Napa. The hotel staff was one of the friendliest that we have encountered. The breakfast was delicious, the wine and desserts divine, and the room was beyond our expectations. This hotel MADE our Anniversary.
Furu-Sato gets points for a nicely decorated building and interior. They clearly spent some time and money furnishing the place. I recently had the dinner combo ... pick two items from a list, comes with salad and miso soup. My California rolls (6) and pile of teriyaki chicken was good and very filling (the California rolls were quite large). The presentation was nice, not a generic bento box filled with food, but a series of plates arranged very nicely. Extra points for the edamame on the table when we sat down.
Stopped here today to pick up some lunch to go after picking up from my car from the shop. I love that this place is open at 6:30 AM and you can get eggs, or cinnamon rolls or a breakfast burrito. I had the grilled turkey with tomato and cheese, it was a little dry but I liked it. Thin slices of turkey, tomato and cheddar grilled on plain bread.
I had a cup of the potato white bean soup, it was pretty peppery but I liked the carrots and fresh veggies. I also got a brownie, also kind of dry but tasty, dark chocolate icing. I liked the decor, the coffe mug motif was pretty attractive, tons of places to sit to if you want to have an office lunch. The staff were on the ball. I will eat there again.
La Farine, an Oakland bakery that opened in 1974 and has become a bread beacon in the Bay Area. Available as a baguette, petit pain, or batard, with our without Kalamata olives laced into the dough, it is fantastically chewy with a crisp crust. Sour but not overwhelmingly so, this is bread that asks no condiment or complement whatsoever
Authentic Chinese - worth the drive!: Got hooked on this place while living in Campbell. We'll drive from S SJ just to enjoy the assorted won ton soup and beef. DROOL! I'm a foodie and have to give this place 2 thumbs up...
Amato's is off the hook!!! I've been eating here since 1997, I've never had a bad experience. I love the bread here... If anyone ever wants a great Philly Cheesesteak, you gotta go to Amato's...
Excellent excellent excellent food! We go there at least every time we visit Napa. The best baby back ribs, a very good prime rib dip sandwich, the best steak, the best everything - HIGHLY recommended!
Really great hamburgers. Ask for less dressing, unless you like a 1/2 cup of mayo on your burger. They do grilled or raw onions on burgers, and I like each for different reasons. Solid steak fries, nothing fancy but very good. Pies are good and they have tons of flavors (why pies?) I have been to both the Daly City location as well as the Oakland version near Jack London square, and I love them both. As far as fast-food burgers go, I would put Nation's on the top of the stack.
