Very good pizza and our party included picky young diners. We called in and picked up. Good prices and fresh ingredients. A pleasant surprise and would definitely patronize them again.

A nice gourmet shop that carries North Carolina specialty items. Wonderful chocolates, good selection of sweets, wines and other foodstuffs. Nice gift baskets. Catalog also available on line for when you can't make it to Chapel Hill.
Appalachian Spring
Great selection of unique and affordably priced jewelry. A nice choice for birthday or anniversary gifts. Convenient location. Some of my favorite jewelry came from here and I always get compliments.
Butler's Orchard
A fun place to take the kids. We enjoyed picking our pumpkin after a hayride. Corn maze, good food, child-friendly activities. There were blue-grass musicians the day we were there. Berry-picking and plenty of jams and other items for purchase. A good outing year-round.

If you are in the unfortunate position of needing a root canal, then Dr. Peterson can help. Gentle and professional, he performed the necessary procedures right away, upon my dentist's referral. Obviously any dental surgery is expensive without good dental insurance and this practice is no exception. However, they did submit for me.
Gaithersburg Air Conditioning and Heating
Professional, reliable service for both air and heating systems. They send a nice newsletter with helpful hints about keeping costs down and helping the environment. They offer a maintenance agreement with pre-season inspections. Prices comparable to similar businesses.
Cafe Monti
We love this place and probably miss it the most of any restaurant in Alexandria since moving to MD. Wonderful pizza and other dishes, including dessert. Small, informal dining room can mean a wait, but very much worth it. Italian/Austrian specials that will satisfy the most discerning palate at extremely reasonable prices. A gem that is always among the best bargain restaurants in the region.
Tara Thai
A favorite for good food in relaxing, colorful environment. Although it can get crowded, the food is reliably high quality. Eat outside on warm days. Generally attentive service. They have meat and vegetarian items, as well as desserts and many mixed drinks, virgin and non. More expensive than some places, but nice for an evening out.
Lebanese Taverna
Very good food. Eat in or outside in nice weather. Can be crowded, but worth the wait. Sandwiches or platters at reasonable rates. We've never been disappointed in food or service. Parking can be tricky but keep circling.
Squigley's Ice Cream & Treats
What could be better than ice cream after a hot day at the beach? Great fudge, as well. A sure-fire way to please kids and adults alike. Reasonable rates and friendly service. Squiggle yourself on over and check it out!
