This is a nice market with fine food items, cookware and special ingredients for the culinarily inclined. The attached Cosmo's Cafe has excellent food at reasonable prices. Freshly prepared and friendly service. Nice for lunch or coffee with pastry. Vegetarian options. On Kingston Pike. Treat yourself or someone special. They also offer catering and on line shopping.
Fun store with--you guessed it--hats galore. In Old Town; perfect for browsing or buying, although not all the hats come cheap. Whether your interest is in form or function, you will find head wear in every style from the simple to ornate. Lots of smiles in this shop!
Compassionate and professional family service since 1854. Their attention to detail frees those in mourning to celebrate the life of their loved ones, rather than worrying about whether something will get done. Respectful of all religious traditions. Dignified planning for fitting tributes, whether military or civilian. They will help you select the most appropriate type of service and/or viewing. They are experienced in the grieving process and can refer clients to additional resources for support or counsel. You don't want to need a funeral home, but if you do, they are the best in the area.
Nice change from the mega toy stores. I found some fun and educational gifts for all the children in the family. Helpful staff and pleasant shopping experience. They carry some of the more commercial brands, but no "junky" stuff. Fun small trinkets, as well. Mostly higher quality lines, with prices accordingly. Also books and music. They also offer gift wrapping. Worth a visit for birthdays, holidays or "just because."
A classic. Best theater in the area for old-school movie experience. For big-screen favorites it is the most comfortable seating and best viewing experience. A favorite with kids and adults alike. Worth the trip even if you live in the wilds of the suburbs. Generic multiplexes don't compare.
We always enjoy Jaleo's. Have eaten at Bethesda and DC locations and had good food at both. The Bethesda location is more relaxing (once you can find parking), whereas the DC location is good if you have a play or concert to attend afterwards. Not cheap eats, but also not too expensive for the quality. We usually order 3 or 4 dishes each and share. Don't skip dessert! They also will send promotions and birthday "gifts" via email if you sign up.
Don't go out of your way for this one. The food was okay and likewise the service, but nothing memorable. While some might like the decor, it seemed dated and dank to us. If you're going to pay for a lunch or dinner out, go out of your way to find a better place than this.
Conveniently located at Georgia Avenue and Olney-Laytonsville Road, this is a comfortable place for a business lunch or dinner out with family/friends. Good food at reasonable prices. Casual but nice. A classic choice if you are in Olney.
Good pizza and pasta. Generous servings at reasonable prices. Service is prompt and helpful. Good for a staff lunch or dinner out with the family. Unassuming but pleasant atmosphere.
Very nice women's boutique. One of a kind items. Small shop with attentive and helpful staff. They send mailings with reminders of sales. Clothes for work or casual wear. Some jewelry and accessories. I liked knowing things I got here would not be seen everywhere I went, as they only stock a few per style. A bit on the pricey side if you can't catch a sale, but good quality.
