Very nice used and rare books. In the heart of downtown Boone. Good prices. Fun to browse, even if a purchase eludes you, which would be surprising. Helpful and knowledgeable staff. Since I was last there, I heard they are now operate exclusively online. If that is the case, I am sure their inventory remains equally impressive.

Good pizza at reasonable rates. Family-friendly dining and convenient location make this a good stop for lunch or dinner. Not fancy, but reliable pies.

This is a casually elegant restaurant with very good food. It has outdoor seating for warm weather in addition to the colorful, comfortable decor inside. Good service and reasonable prices. Nice appetizers, soup and entrees. Fresh flowers on the tables. Business lunches and a bar, but still family-friendly. Convenient location near the theater with public parking lot right across the street.
Grillmax Restaurant
Anything you need for home craft projects. Abundant and reasonably priced supplies. Convenient location in Olney Town Center Shopping Center. Fun to browse and you might just get inspired!
Hard Times Cafe Bethesda
This is a fun place for the whole family. Good chili, served over spaghetti three, four or five ways (with added cheese, onions, beans) and even a vegetarian option. They have a smaller size portion for kids or light adult eaters on request. They also serve salads, burgers and other appetizers. Good onion rings and the long-necked bottles of root beer are a hit with the kids. Tasty brownie dessert. Reasonable prices, reliable service. A favorite, especially during cold weather.

Beautiful fresh flowers and arrangements. Large selection of exotic blooms. Professional and caring service. Good rates for the quality. Convenient location. The best choice for special occasions or bereavement observances. They have been very accommodating when I have stopped in and requested a special bouquet on the spot. They also deliver, serving Jefferson and West Jefferson.

A classic. Everything you can imagine and then some. Crafts, clothing, old-fashioned candy, toys, gifts for the home and even goods for pets. Don't miss the jellies, preserves and fruit butters. A real old-timey store that the whole family will love. Reasonable prices and friendly and knowledgeable staff. On the occasions we have been, they have welcomed well-trained dogs to accompany owners into the store.

This is a terrific bookstore for books and gifts that honor all spiritual paths. Located in historic downtown Boone, this store has a wide selection of materials for seekers and believers of any tradition. Welcoming and friendly service with good prices. A favorite destination.
Wright-Away Refuse
Reliable, reasonable garbage removal for residence or business. Schedule one or two days per week. When we moved to Gaithersburg we did not realize we did not have city pick-up. A neighbor recommended and we have not been disappointed in service. No problems. The only thing that would make it more convenient is to be able to pay bills online.
