Good food, and a nice place to stop
after a day of tracking at Chemeketa
with the dogs all day. The service is friendly,
but I always feel as if they're prices are a
bit higher than the average Mexican food
restaurants of the same ilk.
I doubted I would find 'decent' Mexican food
in Molalla, but I did. Muchas Gracias was
pretty good, and a good price as well.
Taqueria style, as well as some of the more
'Americanized' beans & rice plates too.
What a fun little shop! And, I do mean LITTLE!
The place is tiny, and could use a good cosmetic
makeover, but it's so much fun! There are lots of
strange vintage clothes, and accessories, it's
a great stop prior to Halloween!
I am not completely sure that Your Place is still
open, but I sure hope so! It is a fun eclectic little
shop that carries unique items that you won't always
find elsewhere. Friendly staff that knows their clientle.
I really like this restaurant, and haven't been
in some time. It's located down-town, in the
Reed Opera House Mall. The fajitas are
better than any others in town, and well, like
the name says--the Margaritas are a don't miss.
If you are in Salem, and like sushi, give
Kyoto a try. I love that you can sit and watch
the sushi chef prepare meals, the food is
very fresh and excellent. The prices are
reasonable, and the atmosphere is usually
quiet and serene--as I feel a Japanese sushi
restaurant should be.
Pietros still has one of the better pizzas in town.
Stay away on the weekend nights the place
tends to fill with screaming kids & is just generally
over-crowded, however for
a lunch or take out they are great. Thin, crispy
crust or the deep-dish pan-style are both good
depending upon what you like. My personal
favorite here is the deep-dish taco--they are
one of the few places I know that still uses
a refried bean 'sauce' instead of red-sauce on
taco pizzas. Mmmmm!
I love seafood, however I do not
particularly care for it fried. Newport
Bay has many items on its menu that
are not of the fried variety. Their chowder
is delicious, their wait-staff friendly
and attentive, and the salads here
I went here thinking it was an Italian food
restaurant! So, that certainly doesn't say
much for my Spanish! <grin> However,
the food was good. A bit overpriced for
the same ol' same ol' beans & rice, but
the staff was friendly & the food good.
A club I belonged to used to have monthly
meetings here. The food was always quite
good, and the service friendly and attentive.
However, I believe they have since either gone
out of business or sold out to different owners.
We stopped having our meeting there because
we'd been told they were going to become a
'dance club' (ie--strip club).
So, don't make the drive without calling ahead
