Schmeissers has never failed at producing high quality steaks, pork chops, ground beef, liver, and other meats. Their quality is reflected in their price. However, the price is far more reasonable than what you would find in a restaurant with a comparable item.
As a note to dog lovers: Schmeissers has dog bones that you can purchase for cheap, or get for free if you purchase something as simple as ground beef. The dogs go wild for the liver, by the way!
Caldwell's will give you a generous portion, regardless of what your order is. They do not skimp on the meal size, and yet their prices are reasonable.
We ordered 2 bowls of chicken and wild rice soup, a Caldwell's burger, and a chicken caesar salad, along with 2 sodas. The bill came to about $25 before tip. The food was hot, well prepared, and delicious. The cheeseburger came with an order of amazing french fries!
The only con is that you get 1 free refill on soda.
Olga's makes excellent Snackers -- it's pita bread with some form of pizza seasoning and butter/cheese spread. It is beyond delicious -- and very reasonable!
Olga's is Greek themed, but very "American" in nature. They have a to-die-for fried chicken pita. Combined with an order of snackers and a drink, the bill comes out to around $9.
This store isn't as good as the one that is on Lee street. The aisle are harder to negotiate and it's a bit difficult to find out where the items you want are located. It's a smaller store, you can't fault them for that. The parking is decent.
Jewel was recently remodeled. They have new freezer/cold food storage. There is an entire aisle dedicated to whole foods / organic foods. Jewel is really stepping it up a notch and starting to carry quality brands that have lower costs.
They have great classes for dogs of all ages, shapes, and sizes. Their classes are located out doors at various convienent times.
Please know that they are located on the corner of 2 busy streets, so if your dog chases cars or is afraid of cars, this is probably not the best place to go.
This is a great facility owned by an experienced dog person!! They offer lots of things: training, daycare, simple pet supplies, etc.
This is a great place to train your pet in a humane, fun way!
Petland buys dogs from puppy mills, which are mass factory farm breeding facilites that keep dogs in cages 24/7. The females are bred every single time possible. Any time a dog doesn't "cut it" as a breeder, they are killed or auctioned off to another facility.
If you buy a dog or even a gold fish from here, you are supporting cruelty. You are NOT "saving" a life, you are condemning another dog to take your dog's spot in the inhumanity.
THey are the best! They have a great selection of dog foods kept at reasonable prices. They have a lot of holistic and high quality foods and products.
This clinic moved to Busse. During the move, all of the other veterinarians left, as did the front office staff -- that should speak volumes.
We had to put our dog down last year; it was "that time". We were made to wait for over an hour. Although it was not an emergency, who wants to wait in a room with a dog who is about to die? Not acceptable.
I am grateful that we were able to get in to have this done, but I think that the amount of wait time was ridiculous.
We went to this clinic for years, and the wait time was always around 40 minutes.
