I am not a frequent patron to the adult stores in town, however I wanted a new outfit.... :) and this store was suggested. I was pleasantly surprised by the upscale shopping experience. I went in expecting to find something as fast as I could and get out of there. I ended up spending half an hour just going through outfits, and stockings. Plenty of parking. and the staff were helpful, and made me feel comfortable. The prices were a little high, but the selection was good, and I bought more than I went in for. I would reccomend this store for those who want to add a little spice to an evening. This is not just a porno store, it was much nicer than I expected.
I am not sure if the Columbine is a steakhouse that happens to serve liquor, or a bar that happens to sling steaks. During peak dinner time the line is usually at... or out the door. This might be a turn off for some, but the line moves fast enough that it is not really as bad as it might look going in. I am not sure how they do it, but it seems the food is served at the same pace as the people eating it. Almost without fail as one persons food is ready someone else is just leaving, and though it seemed impossible a moment ago, a table appears, and is ready as you get to it. This is a no frills meal, you can pick your pice of beef while you are waiting in line, and as you move through cafeteria style, your steak is almost ready when you get to the front of the line and choose your salad dressing. Texas toast tops off the meal. Not a romantic setting for sure, but one of the better steak deals in town, and still worth the occasional wait to get in. Parking can be tight.... but a little walk after the meal might do more good than harm. I would reccomend this as a solid meal, not a first date selection
I had not been to this place for a number of years. I remembered a mom and pop operation with the best steak deal in town. $5.00 for a t-bone, baked potato and salad. Not real imaginative but George cooked a mean steak, and was well worth the trip downtown. Recently had the opportunity to eat here again. I perused the menu (which certainly had a lot of items to choose from) plus a grip of specials written on the board. The first thing I noticed was the prices were comprable to the nicer steak houses around town, certainly not a bar and grill where the salad bar was basically a sheet of plywood over the pool table. Although the food was still pretty good, I thought it was over-priced for the atmosphere in which it was served. The waitress (God bless her) could have been my grandmother, (I am not young :) ) I would probrably eat here again, but would not take a date here for a big night out.
This was a good place to eat, although I half expected flo to come and take my order at any minute. The food was truck stop good, without the truck stop. It was a little heavy, chicken fried steak, mashed potatos and plenty of it. The food was reasonably priced, and certainly one would not have to worry about leaving hungry. I am a big fan of meat and potatos and would definately eat here again. Very good service, and plenty of room to park.
I ate here as it was close to a job I was working on, I really had not heard about it before going in. I hope that I just hit it on a bad day. I waited about five minutes before I was even acknowledged, and then another 5 minutes before I could order my food. I know 10 minutes is not a real long time, but I came in about 1 o'clock and the lunch rush had died down before I arrived. It did seem as though they were a little understaffed, but thought maybe because the rush was over, some of the staff might already have been let go. I ordered a gyros platter, received a gyros sandwhich.... not the end of the world, but the meat was dry, tomatoes few and far between and the fries were cold. When I went to pay for the food, I had to tell the cashier I had received the sandwhich instead of the platter as I was still being charged for the latter. Parking was not a problem. I would not eat here again, and would not reccomend it to anyone else either.
I heard from several people that I would enjoy my experience here, I just want to say they were right. I have the typical stereotypes of tattoo studios, with the "disheveled" artist dropping ash from his cigarette into my ink, well maybe not but you get what I mean. We both actually ended up getting tattoo's here. Carl; the owner, was friendly, and very informative. I liked the lay-out, the front of his shop was colorful, and had plenty of pre-drawn examples of work you could choose from. He went first, and they went into a private room, with it's own sink, and every thing he used was brand new coming out of still sealed bags. The whole place was very clean, with stainless steel and white paint everywhere. He didn't seem to mind my trying to negotiate a better price for what I wanted (I actually saved 25.00) which to me is always a plus....lolol I was introduced to Joanna, another artist working there. I was able to see some of the work in her portfolio, and was most impressed. She had been in tattoo magazines, and had a slew of awards for her work. This made me much more comfortable. I ended up having her draw something up just for me, and although this required me coming back a second (and third) time, it was well woth it. Sorry to be so longwinded, but I really enjoyed this experience, and would reccomend these artists, and this shop to any and everyone.
We recently attended a show here, and loved the experience. If you have the opportunity to sit in one of the "Opera" style balconies, do not hesitate to take advantage or it. We could hear every word, and the view was outstanding. The tickets were a little expensive (but what isn't these days). Parking was plentiful, and not more than a few hundred feet from the venue. We were able to eat at a nice restaurant, and easily make it to the show. The staff were very friendly, professional, and seemed to "vanish" at all the right times. I would love to attend another show here, and we are already looking at booking for the Nutcracker.
If you are fond of Gyros... you will like this little eatery. They do offer a full middle eastern menu, but the gyros was what will bring me back. Recently renovated, this eatery has my vote for one of the best gyros around. The sauce was just right (cucumber - yogurt or sour cream) actually accented the food instead of drowning it. The flan was also very good. We only stopped in and had the lunch special, but will now have to try the full dinner experience. parking was a bit of a problem, but the food made the hunt for a spot worth while. I will be eating here again
I had passed this restaurant 1000 times going from the downtown area to I-25. Now I wish I would have stopped there sooner. The pitcher of "Golden Margaritas" was excellent, and very reasonably priced. I have tried green chile in almost every restaurant I have found that offers it, and this was some of the best. The portions were large, but not too large if you know what I mean. I would not call this an "intimate" dining experience, but the atmosphere was comfortable, and the staff actually seemed to enjoy what they were doing. As the parking lot is also shared by Sam's Club, parking was not a problem. I will make sure and stop here again. Very nice experience.
We went to Little India with his out of town parents, who are very fond of Indian food. The food was excellent, the curry was spicy without being volcanic, with an excellent selection of breads and wines. The down side to this meal was being packed in like sardines, almost cafeteria style, I know they are busy and the turnover of patrons was smooth, but we could easily follow the conversations of the four tables around us. Nice place for a meal, but not that intimate event you might be looking for
