I'm so glad we finally have Thai food close by! The food here is terrific and the atmosphere beautiful. The staff is attentive. Well worth a visit. The only drawback is that parking is a bit of a pain in downtown LaGrange. Also, if you're just doing take-out, you may have to park a block away which is annoying when you just want a quick in and out. Also try Cida Thai which is about a mile South on LaGrange road in Countryside. Parking is easy and the food is great here as well.
There is nothing like a fresh coffeecake from Kirschbaum's and a hot pot of coffee on a Saturday morning, along with the Chicago Tribune of course. But if I do too many of those, I'll have to start exercising more. So I do try and have some restraint! But their coffeecakes, in many many varieties, are first class. They also have great desserts for that special party. Their bread, on the other hand, is unimpressive compared to artisan bakeries. Perhaps it's the elusive wood burning ovens those higher end places have! But if you're willing to get your bread elsewhere, you'll be thrilled with the coffeecakes and desserts they produce here.
Scotts Pet Shop has just about anything you could be looking for, and they carry a good quality of product. I appreciate the fact that they do not sell puppies or kittens as I will not buy from a store which does. They have a large selection of ultra premium dog foods and a staff knowledgeable enough to discuss them fluently. My kids always love coming along and looking at the fish and small birds, hamsters, rabbits, etc. It is rare to see an animal here that does not look well, unlike the chains where I frequently cringe every time I look in a new cage.
If you like a really great Hamburger, they make the best I've ever had, and they prepare it perfectly grilled to order. Really great comfortable but clean and lodge-y atmosphere. Great service.
I tried to Reuben the other day just so I wasn't always getting the hamburger and found it to be waaaaaaaaaaaay too salty. Next time I'll stick to the hamburger. My husband tried the meatloaf and mashed potatoes and loved it.
Exactly what you expect it to be. Usual bar food prepared reasonably well. No surprises, good or bad. Ample parking with more out back. Would love to see them branch out into something that would differentiate them from others.
Very modern minimalist atmosphere. A lot of steel and white and black and high ceilings. Makes me uncomfortable, though others may like this. The menu is unique, but reading through it I can't find one thing I'm dying to try. When I go out I prefer to be more comfortable, not as though I should be sitting with my back straight in some ultra-modern atmosphere. The staff is great and very attentive. Great place if someone else is paying, as it's not cheap! Business dinner perhaps?
The staff is lovely here but the food fails to inspire. If this works into your path geographically, the food certainly isn't bad, it just isn't all that good. Fine place to stop with kids as it isn't a stuffy place, but I would not choose this as a place to go with the hubby on a night out.
If you need a preschool or daycare where your child will be safe, cared for with love and kindness, and enriched by skilled instructors trained in the latest educational philosophies, look no further. This facility has terrific staff with longer tenure than any facility I have ever been aware of. This alone is indicative of the superior management and personnel skills of the director/owner. I have complete trust in this facility and its staff.
