Seattle Rubbish Removal

Seattle, WA Rubbish & Garbage Removal | 04/17/08: 'Responsive and friendly'

I called mid-day to schedule pick up of about a pick up truck load of stuff....thinking I'd have to wait at least a few days, but they were there with in 4 hours! They got the stuff out of the garage almost as quick as I could point (to the item to go) - I would use them again.

Grooming Spa

Seattle, WA Pet Washing & Grooming | 04/04/08: 'Spendy but always worth it'

Yes this place is expensive, but after trying others I discovered the Grooming Spa is worth every penny (I just let my dogs get a little shaggy er between cuts now). My dogs come back happy (not frantic / traumatized as with some others), their nails perfectly ground down, fur evenly cut, soft and fresh - not that over perfume-y smell that happens with a lot of groomers. We have 5 groomer with in 5 miles of us - we drive 15 to go to Grooming Spa.

Beach Comber Kids Cuts

Seattle, WA Barbers | 04/04/08: 'Cute place, nice staff, good cut'

The only reason I didn't give them 4 stars is because they kept cutting my daughter's hair too short. It was still cute and amazingly straight (my daughter is high energy) - but I take her in for a trim and she comes out with a bob.

Pailin Cuisine

Seattle, WA Restaurants | 04/04/08: 'Love their Pad Thai'

We order take out from here about 3 times a month, they are very consistent; always good. They seem to do better with take-out orders than eat-in; the few times we've eaten there the food is still good but the service is a little slow.

Circa

Seattle, WA Restaurants | 04/04/08: 'Yummy. Too bad its so small'

I was actually tempted to lick my plate. Yes the food is that good. The servers are also very knowledgeable; I'm not a red wine drinker, but as we were waiting to be seated a server came to take drink orders of the people waiting. She described this delicious sounding wine - it turned out to be an Australian Shiraz and it was exactly as she described it. I was impressed. I only wish they had more seating so there could be less wait...but you know what they say about good things....

Talarico's

Seattle, WA Pizza Restaurants - Seattle, WA Italian Restaurants | 04/04/08: 'Best pizza ever...and good drinks too!'

Before I start gushing about how much I love this place, I'll outline the only two "cons" I can think of; the din of conversation gets really loud during dinner (bad acoustics?), and you can't order "take out." It's a bar, so no kids allowed - and I even enjoy that on my free nights....but sometimes I really crave a slice of the "Tarentino" and have no means to satisfy! The food is always good and the drinks well poured. On my last visit I decided to be adventurous and try a different drink - I can't remember what it was, but I didn't like it - too sweet. The drink was as it was supposed to be, just not to my taste - I figured "oh well, now I know" and had no intention of not paying for it. But our server noticed I didn't drink it, and took it off our bill. That was a very nice surprise!

Curious Kidstuff

Seattle, WA Toys | 04/04/08: 'Coolist toys, nicest people, beautiful gift wrapping'

We've lived in West Seattle for 5 years, have had children for 3 - so why did I just discover this gem in the last year? It has a really good (and impressively organized) selection of well made, non-violent, learning-disguised-as-fun toys.

....and the complementary gift wrapping always ends up beautiful!

Bamboo Bar & Grill

Seattle, WA Pakistani Restaurants - Seattle, WA Bars & Clubs | 04/04/08: 'Sadly seems to be going downhill'

We used to frequent this place for a nice weekend lunch at least once a month. The service was always a little slow, but the staff was friendly, drinks well balanced and the food excellent. However, during recent two prior visits part of our order was forgotten and we had to chase down our check - But the food was still very good, so we gave them one last chance. The food was mediocre and the service still declining. This last chance was truly the last.

Okinawa Teriyaki

Seattle, WA Japanese Restaurants | 04/04/08: 'Consistently good'

Nestled next to the noisy viaduct, with tattered booths and a restroom that doubles for storage, is the best teriyaki in downtown. I've been going at least once every 3 weeks for 7 years now and have NEVER been disappointed with the food. The service can be a little slow if you show up in the middle of the lunch crush - but that is easily avoided if you call ahead for take out.We also sometimes take our 3 year old and 9 mo old there for dinner before commuting home - the owners are always friendly and good with the kids.

Magic Mouse Toys

Seattle, WA Toys | 04/04/08: 'Selection is good, but the staff don't seem to like children'

My experience has been very different than "heather s."'s. My husband and I both work downtown so found Magic Mouse convenient for lunch time last minute shopping. It was a little over priced, but we figured we were paying for the location. Then we brought our 2 1/2 year old daughter in with us one evening after work and the man behind the counter seemed bothered by our questions. It felt like he was annoyed at our presence and at our daughters excitement. We haven't been back.
