Cloverleaf Bar and Restaurant

You almost miss it driving down Gratiot, but the tons of cars in the lot and spilling onto the street, give you a clue you have hit upon a good place to eat. The portions are huge, the variety surprisingly diverse and the pizza is fabulous. It's usually enough for dinner the next night.

Mario's Office

Detroit, MI Italian Restaurants 04/18/08: 'Still one of Detroit's Best'

Whether off to the theatre, Tiger's game, or the casino, Mario's is still one of our best restaurants in Detroit. It's not cheap, but it is delicious. I love the appetizer tray with veggies, cheese, salami, and the bread. Waiters are wonderful, too.

Sweet Georgia Brown

Detroit, MI American Restaurants 04/18/08: 'Best of the Best'

One of the best meals I have had in my life was at Swee Georgia Browns -- deep-fried lobster that was out of this world, melt in your mouth delicious. The wait staff are impeccable and the music feeds your soul.

Lafayette Coney Island

Detroit, MI Restaurants 04/18/08: 'Best Hot Dogs in the World'

My Dad always took me to Lafayette Coney Island whenever we were within a 10 mile radius for a baseball game, shopping, or going to a museum or Cobo Hall. It hasn't changed in 50 years -- still the best all beef dogs with great chili and onions. A must for all visitors and native Detroiters.

Potato Places

Detroit, MI Restaurants 04/18/08: 'Love 'Em'

This is a great place for quick, good, and cheap lunches. I like the big old potatoes loaded with veggies and cheese. You can have them any way you want. You will love it!
