Located at Cape Harbor, this marketplace stocks wines and cheeses from around the world, as wells as gourmet salads, sandwiches, soups and desserts that Chef Robert Cardoos and his wife Barbara make. They will deliver items dockside to boaters at their request, have wine and dine nights, and offer cooking classes, sunset dinners, and catered affairs. Their store menu will change daily, depending on what ingredients are available, but one thing that does not change is the wonderful taste and quality. The price is very reasonable for the quality.
Nonna's is a fairly new restaurant to the Cape that serves very good Italian food, either dine in or carry out. They have excellent pizza, and they also have very good hot and cold sandwiches, soups, salads and appetizers, and wonderful homemade pasta dishes, calzones and strombolis. The prices are very reasonable and the service is always very fast and the owner and other staff are always very friendly. A nice place to go for lunch or dinner.
A fun place to go with friends, the comedians here are usually very funny. The club has a full bar as well as a dinner menu, or you can just go for the comedians. The prices for the show alone are very reasonable although the cost of drinks are a bit pricey! Expect adult humor and language when you go.
A sportsbar atmosphere, a TV is visible from every seat in this restaurant! They serve very good seafood, steaks and burgers, and their appetizers are large enough to make a meal by themselves. Of course they have lots of beer on tap too, and don't forget the great desserts. They do get very busy, so service can be a little slow, but always pleasant. Prices are moderate.
Famous Dave's is a local favorite for great bar b q. They have your usual ribs and chicken and bar b q sandwiches, but they also have very good appetizers, burgers, fish, salads, soups and desserts! Famous Dave's is a fun place to eat, prices are reasonable and the service is good.
Very good Chinese buffet, they boast that they have over 100 items daily to choose from. They offer a modestly priced lunch buffet during the week, a moderately priced seafood dinner buffet in the evenings, and they also have a Sunday brunch offered as well. If you are not in the mood to eat in, they offer a priced per pound carry out buffet as well!
Harpoon Harry's is located in Fisherman's Village in Punta Gorda overlooking Charlotte Harbor, and is one of many local restaurants that you can boat to for dinner. The food and drinks are good, the view is wonderful with some outdoor seating if you get there early enough, and they have live rock/blues/soul music there on the weekends. The service is good, the cost is reasonable, and it's just a fun place to go.
Scottie's is an excellent place to go for all your boating needs, including the boat! They have an excellent selection of boats for sale, and even sell previously owned boats on consignment. They have a full range of boating products from fishing supplies such as lures and poles to bimini tops and boat rails and awnings. They have their own service dept. and are able to do custom welding and canvas work. Their sales people and repair people are very knowledgeable and expert at what they do, and their prices are competitive.
Nino's is a place to go for great pizza, but it is also a great full service restaurant with excellent Italian food. Their pastas and sauces are wonderful, their seafood is excellent, the service is always great, and the prices are very reasonable. They also have wonderful soups and breads. Whether you are in the mood for a pizza to carry out or a leisurely dinner with friends, Nino's fits the bill.
This is a local, small town type hardware store with a little bit of everything. From screen repairs to key making to lawn and garden supplies and UPS shipping and packaging to your basic hardware tools and paints, this store has it all! The employees are very helpful and knowledgeable, the prices are very reasonable, and the store hours, while not as extensive as the bigger chain hardware stores, are reasonable. I'm always impressed by this store when I go in.
