Apple Movers

Dallas, TX Movers 04/16/08: 'Really awful company, terrible customer service'

We went with Apple Moving because they boast of being professional "insured" movers who will take good care of you. They do live spots on the radio all the time, asking you why on earth would you have a friend help you move... what if they drop your expensive TV?!?! Well you wouldn't have to worry about that with them, because they are "insured" and everything they move will be covered! Well... that is exactly what happened to us. One of their "professional" movers, who could not have weighed more than 140 pounds, swung our heavy, flat screen HDTV over their head (pretty professional move, right?). The TV fell 6 feet to the ground, and the outside of it broke. We figured "Hey, no problem! Apple is insured and we will get taken care of through this wonderful claim process they constantly remind us of in their advertising!"

I received a call this morning from Apple. Since our TV still technically turns on, they consider it "not broken." Isn't that charming? So I am supposed to sit a broken TV in my living room like it's nothing? A TV I paid alot for, and isn't my fault that it's broken? That's pretty low rent. And get this- here is what their marvelous insurance will do for you... They happily tell me that they pay $0.61/ pound for damaged goods. They will be paying us $91.00 for our broken TV. That's what they're covering us for... $91.00 and a broken TV. SO JUST BECAUSE THEY SAY THEY WILL COVER YOUR GOODS, DOESN'T MEAN IT WILL BE AT A FAIR PRICE. Keep that in mind. Let that sink in, and think of anything expensive in your house that you would be really ticked off to have them break and only pay you pennies on the dollar per pound.

Better yet, just go ahead and enlist your buddies to help you move, the good old fashioned way, because your drunk buddies will take better care of your stuff than a company who knows it will only have to pay out $0.61 a pound for anything their "professional" movers break.

So, I'm posting this poor review on any web page I can find, hoping that I can spare someone else the ANGER at being treated so poorly.
