Cherry Valley is a private course in the Hopewell/Skillman area. It is nestled in a beautiful community. The course is well maintained and a pleasure to play.
Stonybrook is a nice practice course. It's an executive course basically, but it has 18 holes. It allows a novice ( and the season player too ) the opportunity to get some practice in, especially the short game. There are a few holes where you can let it out, but this couse is really well suited for the short game. The greens are fail and the fairways could use some work.
Marsilio's was a great restaurant in the Chambersburg section of Trenton since 1952. The restaurant closed about a year ago and reopened as a catering venue. We attended an event at Marsilio's recently and had a wonderful experience. The food was outstanding and the music from the Juke Box was memorable. Just like when it was a restaurant. Eventhough it was an event I felt that the Old Marsilio's was back. Marsilio's is the exclusive caterer at the Hilton Garden Inn in Hamilton Twp, NJ. We were also told that Marsilio's caters at the newly renovated Masonic Temple in Trenton. I can't wait to attend an event there.
Bedens Brook Country Club is a great club with a wonderful course. The course has great views and wonderfully arranged holes that challenge even the lowest handicapp players. If you are in the Hopewell/Skillman area and you know a member, you have to play this one.
Baltusrol is a "Fantastic" Golf Course. It has hosted several US Opens and boast some of the toughest holes of any course in the country. The course and club house are second to none. The staff is on the other hand the worst. Baltursol is Old Money and if you can get a member to invite you to play, you should not miss this one.
Atlantic City Country Club has a storied history. It was a private club serving a select membership for many years. About 10 years ago one of the Casino's bought the track and completed a renovation of the course and left the club house pretty much in tact.
The couse is well maintained. The greens are fast and the view of the AC skyline is spectacular. If you visit the Atlantic City area you really must play this course.
Remember when you step up to the first tee you right the "Bell" markers to announce that you have arrived.
Metedeconk is a very private and expensive golf club. Metedeconk is one of the premier golf experinces in New Jersey, if not on the East Coast. 27 great holes that provides a tremendous challenge for the best players, and a diffcult challenge for the average player.
I would rank Metedeconk in the top 10 in the Region.
The club house is warm and inviting and the staff is very accomodating.
Laurel Creek is a private course. It is a diffcult track of land with several blind holes. I had the experience during a charity outing that made the couse play short. As is the case in most course the play from the tips would be a challenge.
Pine Valley is with out a doubt the finest golf experience one could have. The legendary greens and target golf provide everything that a player could ask for. The fairways are more manicured than most greens that I have putted.
Pine Valley is exclusively private. You really have to "know" a member to be asked to play. The only time the course is open to the public is the first Sunday in September for the Crump Cup. Worth attending.
This place was unique and offered a variety of choices that included the dishes with Cuban flavor, such as fish tacos with mango salsa, and more mild options like the Brie. It was right on the main street. Convenient and delicious.
