Crossroad Pub
After visitng Crossroad several times I'm always a little let down. It's a great location with what looks to be a great menu, but its always just average. Its a nice sit down place to go, and you certainly won't complain about the service, food or atmosphere, but you probably won't remember it either.
Restaurant & Cafe
Although i've only come to the Restaurant for breakfast, its never disappointed. There are the usual menu choices, but you won't ever go hungry with something for everyone. It's a really good spot to bring a group also, and the service is exactly what you'd hope from a nice looking spot like this.
Taqueria Lupita Mexican Restaurant
Speaking as someone who lives in Texas currently, Taqueria Lupita is top grade. The food is wonderful, and you get great personable service. The Chili Relejnos is sworn by, and the Mole sauce is also good. Although the location is no good, don't let it stop you if you've got the craving for Mexican
Opa Restaurant
If you're on federal hill, you've obviously got some taste in food, and Opa won't disappoint. The place has a small, intimate atmosphere, although not a claustrophobic one and the service is spot on. Great for any time of day.
Golden Bowl
Golden Bowl is to be fair, the same as most other small, local chinese joints. The food ain't bad though, and its cheap to boot, so if you're in the mood for the usual late night chinese delivery (the General tso's is real good) you know where to look.
Kozy Kitchen
Many are the Sunday mornings that i've comt to Kozy Kitchen for the sterotypical, although wonderful, breakfast food- all of yout comfort food favorites are there, with a generous portion of hash browns to go with. The lunch menus also good, but this place is definately worth an early morning trip if you're in the area and hungry
Feast or Famine Express
Feast or Famine is a favorite of mine. It's got a nice, laid back atmosphere, and the usual selection of pastas and pizzas. The food is however, delicious, and the pizzas are always worth coming back for (the caprese in particular)
Johns New York System
You, my friend, have just found heaven. John's serves a phenomenal New York System hotdog- a Rhode Island only food that is a small weiner on a bun with mustard, chopped onion, celery salt, and ground meat "sauce" on top. An absolute must try, and the greasy spoon atmosphere to the whole place makes it even more lovable. Be sure to order cofee milk with your meal- you won't regret it.
Spike's Junkyard Dogs
Speaking as a committed hotdog fan, I can safely say that Spike's in one of the best. The portions are huge, and the price is definately right. You will wait no more than a minute or two for a meal thats easily portable on the go, or you can wait in the junk-yard themed restaurant (that's substantially cleaner than a normal junk yard). A must for any hotdog fan, or inquisitive visitor to Providence
La Creperie
I went to the creperie while visiting a couple friends. We went on a budget and it more than satisfied. It's a nice change, and their crepes are wonderful to say the least- you'll find the full range of options and some other you've never heard of before. The only downside is its in an ally and may seem a bit sketchy to the unknowing- but don't fear, it's certainly worth the trip
