The Dog Shop

A wide variety of food (they will even deliver to your house), a billion toys and treats, leashes, beds, grooming tools, and anything else you and your puppy could dream up (and if they don't have it, they will order it for you!)

Giant Robots

Los Angeles, CA Toys 05/19/08: 'great toys'

Their eclectic and unique books, toys, shirts, stationery, and more make it a good place to buy gifts for that friend who has "everything."
They were the first (that I know of) to start selling those "humping dog" flash drives, and I can find cartoon characters that I haven't thought about in years

Tarina Tarantino Designs

Los Angeles, CA Jewelers 05/19/08: 'great accessories'

By far, my most favorite accessories designer. She has a few themes, she got famous through her "pink head" series... not my favorite from the rest though. I personally like the Skulls and Queen Alice Collection... especially her rings and necklaces.

Skin Haven

Los Angeles, CA Day Spas 05/19/08: 'relax'

Relaxation in Los Angeles....kind of an oxymoron for me. But I think I have found an acceptable option for seeking 75 minutes of solace while an angel of therapy kneads expertly at my knot of a human body. This is coming from someone who has somehow turned into a massage snob who saves her knots for the Asian skills of Thailand and Taiwan. So that is my only reason for the missing star, the international competition. But in and of itself, I could come down off my high horse to melt into the treatments at Skin Haven for sure.

Restaurant Nishimura

West Hollywood, CA Restaurants 05/19/08: 'great outdoor dining'

The outdoor dining is great here, along with the rest of the experience. My waitress was extremely friendly, constantly throwing winks and little smirks... I know it was all for the tip, but it was enjoyable anyway.

Zabies

Santa Monica, CA Restaurants 05/19/08: 'nice and fresh'

The coffee is always delicious--not sure what they brew. But you can serve yourself in mugs they leave out instead of paper cups. It's like eating at someone's home. Everything here is super fresh, their deli case items are notoriously tasty and their burger is even better than the burgers at The Counter (shh don't tell anyone)

El Nido Restaurant

Los Angeles, CA Mexican Restaurants 05/19/08: 'incredible'

The food is incredible and homey. Its not fancy, but everything we had was delicious. I had the steak, managua style. It came hammered kinda flat and thin and all sizzling on an iron plate. It was excellently spiced. I love me some yummy steak and this one was scarfed down in about 5 minutes flat,

Locanda Veneta

Los Angeles, CA Italian Restaurants 05/19/08: 'excellent'

The restaurant is small and lovely and I found that its size, though making it hard to get a reservation there (though we did, luckily) made it feel more intimate and sort of familial. And our waiter was so adorable, I wanted him to sit down and eat with us.

Fioretto Trattoria

Los Angeles, CA Restaurants 05/19/08: 'great food'

This is the kind of small intensely devoted to the cuisine restaurant that goes unnoticed and that is a Epicurean shame of galactic proportions! Please do take the time to try this little gem of a restaurant!

Drago Restaurant

Santa Monica, CA Restaurants 05/19/08: 'good food'

Amazing food, great service, and it never feels stuck-up. The staff was friendly and helpful, the lighting/environs nice, the food average Italian fare.
