I went to SCV Dental for about 10 years and never once had a problem. The office staff are friendly and helpful and Dr. Mindel has to be my favourite dentist ever. Although the hygienists can be a little rough on the gums, according to my dad, I've always liked going there. Most people say they hate going to the dentist, but even when I knew I needed a filling I still couldn't say I hated going (even though I can't stand the sound of the drill or the needles..) I would still be going if they were covered with my husband's insurance, and I'd have my husband go there as well.

Dr. Mindel is always very gentle, kind and happy and I really cannot say enough about how great this office is. Its not all done up with flat screen TVs (not last time I went at least) but what does that matter when you're going to the dentist? The way I see it is the quality of the dentist and the work you get done is what matters, and I have never been anywhere better than SCV Dental Care, and you know it has to be quality when they're with the Better Business Bureau (unlike the 2 other bad offices I have been to since my insurance changed). Really, this has to be the best dentist office in Santa Clarita!!

There must be 30 dentists who work in this office, and the waiting room is evidence of it. The receptionists are all rather rude and are not of much help. The place isn't very clean and they get chintzy with the little plastic sticky things that are supposed to cover anything they touch with their gloves on. I had to ask for them to use those things, and they still didn't cover everything that my old dentist did.

Aside from that working with their office is very difficult and frustrating. I was under the impression that a perio consultation that i had was complimentary, only to find out 2 months later, that it wasn't, and my insurance didn't cover their referred doctor (don't ask me how that works). No one told me prior to the consultation that if my insurance wouldn't cover it that I would have to pay for it. its just irritating to have a surprise like that in your mailbox.

Wouldn't recommend this place, their work isn't very good, its not clean, nor do they practice proper patient hygiene, they aren't personable and its usually a 30-60 minute wait for your appointment.

I agree with the previous poster- they try to scare you into thinking your mouth is going to fall off your face or something utterly ridiculous like that. They quoted my husband as needing around $6000 of work, which, conveniently, our insurance wouldn't cover. My husband went elsewhere for a second opinion and found that his situation was nowhere near as dire as VDG made it out to be. In fact, they did the same thing to me a week after he went in and I told the stupid dentist off for being such a conniving piece of work. I wouldn't go back to that place even if my teeth were rotting, it would be less painful, honestly. This office has no tact and nothing would make me happier than if they disappeared :)
