This place has been around forever, right on Hwy 70. I remember whenever we went to the beach we would time the trip to hit Kinston at lunch so we could eat at Kings BBQ.
I have even used their Oink Express to order BBQ to have 30 lbs with sauce sent to Rochester, NY for a grad school party so I could show everyone what was so great about NC BBQ.
A really exceptional BBQ place.
The BBQ is not as good as the original location in North Raleigh since they have gone kinda fast food-ish, but the BBQ Sauce is still the same great eastern NC style vinegar based sauce they have always had.
Buy a gallon and use it on chicken or make your own pork bbq with it...great stuff.
I have to say that I'm not the biggest fan of Mexican food, but this place...wow. It is better than anywhere in Charlotte I have been and easily compares to what I had on a visit to LA in the Olvera St area.
Its a family run place and that is what you get, food like you would get for dinner or Sunday lunch at a Mexican friends home when Mama was cooking.
Flavors are well balanced and very tasty. The decor is Mexican but reserved and the service is quick and gracious.
Really a nice little place.
The BBQ here is really good.
The parking is a little tight and the place has a bit of that "hole in the wall" feel, but if food quality and taste is what you want, go here.
Rossini's makes a really nice pizza. The crust is a littelthick but never tastes doughey and the toppings are varied and very good.
Prices a reasonable and the staff friendly.
I have also had their Chicken Fettuccini Alfredo. The flavor was great but it was a little dry, which is why they got 4 stars instead of 5.
I wish they delivered.
My comments, while I still think were correct, came across harsher than I intended so I am removing them. I may update them at a later time, but for now I have pulled the comment.
If you need something specialized for your pet this is the place to go. If they don't have it they can get it.
I needed a puppy bowl (different from a regular bowl...it looks like a Mexican sombrero) to use with a litter of pups. This is the only store that had any.
They keep a good selection of high quality foods like Innova & Wellness. They even keep raw food - prepackaged and frozen - for dogs.
They also have bird, fish & cat supplies galore.
This is a great place for lunch. Their food is good with generous portions and the service is attentive without being intrusive.
If your having a stressful day you can watch the fish in the 3 large salt water aquariums while you eat!
A few of us from work go by here every month or so for after work drinks. We usually sit on the sofas in the shop downstairs rather than upstairs in the bar.
The staff is quite knowledgeable and make good recomendations and ambience is relaxed.
The candies here are very good. I would agree with the other reviewer that they are pricey in general.
The homeade fudge is the exception. It was appropriately priced and the Pecan & Turtle Fudges are exceptional. They are the perfect level of sweetness (unlike others who often make them oversweet).
