Cinnamon Indian Restaurant

I love Cinnamon. I couldn't say enough about this place! It is centrally located on Route 10, not too hard to get there. The menu has something on it for everyone, but I love the hummus and the curry!!!! Oh, the Jasmine rice is the best!!!!

Check the website for when the Buffet is on. I'm not one who gets their monies worth at a buffet, but I love the assortment there, and I always feel like I made a steal!

Everyone there is very helpful and kind, thought they prefer to acknoledge the gentleman in the party instead of the woman...cultural differences. The space itself is spacious, kinda can feel empty easily, but I like the walls, and I'm sure there are times when it is super packed.

Dinner is kinda reasonable, but a little on the expensive side. I used to manage it once a month or so, when I lived in the area.

El Taco De Mexico

Cheap does not begin to define. I don't care for eating in the actual establishment, but I do enjoy the food.

Go for the asada tacos with spicy salsa...my favorite, it melts in my mouth! I have one issue with the guac, as it has a lot of cilantro and is also a liquid, but once I got over that I learned to quickly enjoy it. Just beware it will not be what you expect. They also have the best burritos!

Casa Manana Mexican Restaurant

Warning: If you go on a Friday or Saturday night you might have a wait. If you have a large party you might also have a wait. They don't accept reservations, nor do they accept credit cards, so go with cash or checks.

The menu is affordable most meals can be had between 5 and 12 dollars I believe. They have the BEST rice and beens! Its a family owned and operated restaurant, which I like :-) The decor is ok complete with a stuffed marlin! It is certainly a hit! :-)

Cabo San Luis

Always affordable, and a very nice southern california/mexican menu. I love to eat my cabo avo soup outside with my fish tacos. Even if mexican isn't your thing, it really isn't real mexican...as long as you like avocado. :-)

A little annoying to get to if you are on the wrong side of the street, but once you get there you'll find ample parking in back. :-)

Afghanistan Khyber Pass

I love ethnic food, and this won't disappoint if you are like me. he best hummus I've had in a long time. And the atmosphere is very nice :-)

Prices aren't too bad. Slightly expensive, but not too bad. My only problem is that I hate parking in Hillcrest...but it is certainly worth a nice walk.

A nice place to meet and grab a beer!

I have to recommend the calamari on the appetizer menu. Not too crunchy, just perfect!!! Of course the beer is amazing. I haven't eaten much of their menu, but it all looks good and I'd go back again to keep trying different stuff.

After it is nice to work off the buzz by wandering the shops! Go and enjoy yourself! :-)

Off The Record

I go there for the magazines. They have a good collection of past issues of MOJO, and usually have up to date MOJO issues, as well as Q and a few others.

I wish they had women's T-shirts, but they do have an nice selection of men's T-shirts.

Their selection of cds is leans largely on the alt side, which I like. If I collected vinyl I might be happy, but I don't so I can't report on that selection, so if this is your interest I'd certainly stop by and see whats up! :-)

Upon walking in this store I was immediately welcomed by the knowledgeable staff. They didn't seem to mind that I was just browsing and had no intention of buying at that time. Obviously I was looking at some toys for infants so they took time out to talk about the various toys. Many of them came from Germany or other European countries. They even had organic toys, a big plus! No lead there!

They just have such fun, educational and interactive toys for all ages, I was very impressed! They are a little on the expensive side, but I'm willing to pay more for a quality toy.
