Luau Polynesian Lounge
The restaurant was really cute, the prices were ok (a little higher than expected) and the service was good, but the place was so quiet! We went on a Wednesday night and we were the only people there most of the time. One more group of people showed up eventually, but it's always a little scary when you are the only ones there. The food was ok, a little cold actually by the time we got it which is funny considering we were the ONLY ones there at that point! I'd go again in a big group to make the place a little more lively.
Kisaku
I really love this restaurant. It's a little more expensive than my regular hole-in-the-wall joints, but it's worth it. The sushi is good, the service is great, the sake is awesome! The only problem is that the place is ALWAYS busy. Make reservations or go later at night or you'll be waiting in line!
Sushi Tokyo
This restaurant was my favorite sushi restaurant a few years ago. Located in the Roosevelt neighborhood, this restaurant is small and seems to be family owned. The prices are reasonable, and they have the best "spicy sauce" I've ever had on a sushi roll. I would never go back to this restaurant because they have repeatedly messed up my order, over-charged us, and provided the slowest service I've ever experienced. The last time we went, someone else's food was placed on our table. We said it wasn't ours, but the waitress insisted that it was. We repeated that is wasn't ours and she walked away. The people beside us were sort of looking at our dish, so a few minutes later we asked them if it was theirs. They thought it was. After the food sat at our table for 5 minutes, the waitress came over and picked it up and gave it to the people sitting by us! Totally unprofessional! The same day it took over 45 mins for our food to come out after we ordered. A minor detail is that they got a new chef and their spicy sauce changed. I would never recommend this restaurant.
Bengal Tiger E Indian Cuisine
Bengal Tiger is a great Indian restaurant in the Roosevelt neighborhood. I used to eat there every single Sunday for lunch, but my love for cooking has made my trips less frequent. The food is delicious and reasonably priced, especially if you go for the lunch buffet! They have great vegetarian options and the servers are friendly. My only complaint is that the servers get a little pushy during the time of the year when they NWSource voting is happening. They asked us multiple times to vote for them and it was getting annoying. Overall though, we love this place! A must-visit!
Royal Palm
In 2005-2006 this was my favorite restaurant. Good sized portions, friendly staff, great food- what more could you ask for? Then one day, I walk in to find prices increased, and the restaurant had a different feel. My "go-to-order" tasted completely different, there were new dishes, slower service, and new servers. I was told there was a new chef and they were sorry. I tried the restaurant several times after that and never felt the same since. I have a new favorite these days and haven't been back in about 8 months.
