I am a restaurant fanatic. If I find a restaurant that offers fresh and savory food for a reasonable price, I will frequent that place, no matter the distance. I went to this place on my birthday expecting to be entertained with delightful delicacies from the Wine Country, but was met with disgusting disappointment.
Upon asking the server if I could order the Leg of Lamb medium rare, he replied, it's slow roasted, so it will be well done. I kept asking if the meat is fresh...as in freshly cooked and not just sitting around in the fridge. He replied it was fresh and delicious. I decided to order it anyway, because I enjoy the taste of lamb.
When the dish arrived, the first bite tasted a little off. I proceeded to cut away the fat which was about 80% of the meat, and take a bite off the meat from the bone. Usually if something has been slow roasted, the meat closest to the bone will maintain the heat.
However, the meat closest to the bone was COLD. Not room temperature cold. I'm talking it was sitting in the fridge until they microwaved it, but they didn't microwave it long enough cold. Apparently when I asked the waiter why the meat was cold, he said that it wasn't. So I made him touch it. Then he was embarassed and replied rather rudely that I should probably order something else then. I told him I didn't want anything else, if he's just going to lie that everything is fresh, when it's not. I didn't have to pay for the dish.
DONOT believe what the waiters tell you at this place. I even talked to the manager. It is VERY disturbing to find out that a dish you have been told is FRESHLY made, turns out to be STALE and MICROWAVED.
