Bombay Spice Grill & Wine
I have always been a foodie, trying new cuisines and innovative dishes. Indian food has never been very accessible in Phoenix and honestly, it was always a little rich for my taste. However, I just dined at Bombay Spice and had the best experience! The ambiance was contemporary and warm, the food was fresh and light and the wine list was extensive (40 bottles) and affordable ($20 for all bottles).
Though humble on the outside, the inside pops with color and atmosphere. Indie rock plays in the background and local artists' paintings for sale (benefiting Darfur) grace the walls.
Since it was my first time at Bombay, I took our very helpful servers advice when ordering. I started with the Chickpea Ceviche, which is an appetizer big enough to share. This tapa was light and tangy so it was a nice start for a large meal to follow.
Main courses include a wrap, bowl or plate with two item choices for only $8.95. I tried the Chicken Tikka and Eggplant bowl. It was really delicious with the zesty sauces that accompanied the meal.
Another plus: Bombay has vegan and vegetarian options!
I am definitely going to check out the complimentary wine tasting on Monday nights that my server told me about.
Overall, I would say Bombay Spice is a great restaurant to try if you have been interested in Indian Fusion or if you want to experience a fun neighborhood wine bar.
