At the Chateau Grand you can do some wine tasting. They offer my favorite a cherry reisling. They also carry one of my other favorites there, the peach reisling. If those are too sweet for you, you can taste what you prefer.
Bubba's is just one of the restaurant's owned by this TC couple. They are downtown and have a very fun atmosphere. They offer very casual dining. Menu consists of burgers, burritos and beer! Great place to hang out and meet up with friends
You have to drive north on 31 from Traverse towards Elk Rapids to find the Twisted Fish. They carry local art from all sorts of media's. They have paintings, sculptures along with fresh flower arrangements. If you are looking to take a nice drive and have a place to stop, then head to this store.
House of Doggs is on the edge of downtown. It is in a little old house that has been very excitedly decorated. It has a sort of jazzy blues kind of atmosphere. You can get hot dogs made in ways I never knew possible. For a change, this is worth checking out
To get to Country Christmas you have to go out 72 towards Turtle Creek. It is up on the hill in an old barn. They carry all your favorite Christmas decor. They carry some Dept 56 along with Silvestri & Beyers Carolers.
Cherry Country Traditions is a small little store located near the airport. There are a lot of local made items. Of course you can find "cherry" items too. Cute store but a little small.
The Green House Cafe has a good breakfast, but the sandwiches at lunch were nothing special. For lunch I would try the soups or the baked goods. It is walking distance from downtown
What else can be said about Murdick's fudge? It is the best in northern Michigan. You don't even have to go all the way to Mackinaw to get it. Murdick's has a few locations in Traverse. Make it a tradition while you are there.

Mulligans is on the golf course. When you sit in the grill you have a great view of the first tee. The food is good and the staff enjoy their job. You can get appetizers to steaks. They have fun golf names for the foods.
