Tijuana Flats Burrito Company is like Moe's on flavor steroids. With more powerful flavor combinations from which to choose, Tijuana Flats blows your run-of-the-mill Moe's experience out of the water!
Bullfeathers takes its name from a famous saying coined by Teddy Roosevelt. Don't be surprised if you see famous senators and lobbyists here...afterall, no one really comes here for the sole purpose of eating. However, the food is good -- you just might pay a little bit more because of this.
Gumbolaya Restaurant is a great place to experience the cajun flavors that New Orleans is famous for. I got a shrimp po' boy here that was to-die-for. My friends got the gumbo and jambalaya, which they also loved.
The Natchez steamboat is something you must do if you intend to fully experience New Orleans. I went to NOLA back in high school for a student council conference and they rented out the boat one evening. You are served a true cajun meal (we had jambalaya) as you cruise down the Mississippi. A very unique experience!
Sweat's Laundry offers great rates for laundry services and the staff is friendly and helpful. They also house one of only 2 or 3 laundromats in Blackshear.
We went here while on a youth ski trip a few years ago. Over half of us got terribly sick that night and were out of commission for a few days. It may have been a fluke that we all got sick at once -- but on return ski trips, we avoid Granny's Chicken Palace at all costs. Maybe the locals have better luck?
Combining old southern charm with beach decor, the Crab Trap is the premier seafood restaurant on Saint Simons. People will travel from hours away to eat here. I live an hour away and when we want good seafood, we pack up and drive here. It's the real deal.
Only a few feet from the Saint Simon's pier, Go Fish offers a variety of merchandise. They are a Christian-based company and their most popular items are their t-shirts with innovative Christian-based slogans and graphics. They also offer a variety of jewelry, bags, and shoes typical of what you might find out west. Great place to shop!
Sweet Mama's is a great place to go for a snack after you've been on the beach all day or to grab a quick breakfast before you head out for a day at the beach. Popular with tourists and locals alike, you can find your typical pastries here.
With the motto of "no whining", the Apalachicola Seafood Grill is a great place to grab a lighter lunch or a great seafood dinner. Apparently, though I've never tried it, they are the home of the world's largest fish sandwich.
