This place is within walking distance, and I'm there all the time. Either Gloria or one of her sons is serving, and they are super friendly! Dining there always has a warm, friendly family feeling. Prices are VERY reasonable...in the $8-15 range for pretty much every diner. The nachos are huge and so yummy! The pupusas and fried yuca are my favorites.
I have been going there for years, and they are always significantly less than other repair shops. My boyfriend had his brakes done at Brake Center for almost $900. I took my car to Universal, had the exact same work done (on the same model of car) for only $495. And they fixed my broken seat belt for free. They go above and beyond the call of duty, and are very fast as well. I show up in the morning, my car is done before the sun sets.
I can't speak for the Heldford group as a whole, but Dr. Adberg is wonderful. Her manner is calm and knowledgeable, but also very real. It's like having a conversation with your big sis. I have never had a better obgyn, and I recommend her to every woman in this city!
Two words, happy hour. Cheap drinks, cheap sushi, 3 to 6 Monday thru Friday. The sushi is good, not great, but for $2.95 spicy tuna and $1.95 sake, I'm there!
Anarkali has never failed me. The food is always great, and the servers are so nice. They give coupons and something free every time I go. And the cheese naan, mmm.
This place makes me angry. I looove a good margarita and some Mexican food, but this restaurant has neither. The service was incredibly slow, and instead of apologizing, the waitress gave attitude. The drinks are really overpriced, and the food was blah. If you want crappy drinks and Mexican food, save yourself some money and go to El Coyote.
This place just opened up around the corner, and I'm there at least once a week. It's quick, fresh, and the people are friendly. I have a wheat allergy, and can't have soy sauce (not easy for a sushi restaurant!), but they were very accommodating, and made everything sans soy sauce. The ambiance could use some sprucing up, but if you want good, inexpensive sushi, this is the place.
Fantastic Venezuelan food (especially the cachapas). They also have a great wine selection and other food choices as well. The patio is inviting and the desserts are yummy!
The ambience is great, the margaritas even better (although not tequila based), but the food is rather bland. The menu is verbal, and done prix fixe. This would be a good place for a group, since the price and menu are set, and the atmosphere is fun and different from the norm.
