I believe that the Royal Kitchen has the best tasting baked manapua in the city. My favorite was the baked lup chong bau. In my opinion, Royal Kitchen definitely has more meat in each manapua compared to their competition. They also have many other local treats for example: Rice cake, chicken manapua, Steamed manapua, almond cookies, etc...Its located on the River Street side of the chinese cultural plaza. The location might be hard to find if you're not familiar with the area. I recommend you search for driving directions on Yahoo Maps to find it.
We usually have our dog stay at their Kennel while we are out of town. They have a very friendly staff and they take our dog walking every day and Melia seems to like staying there. The doctor's seem caring and knowledgeable and very helpful. It is in a centralized location and the price was reasonable. I recommend this animal clinic to anyone.
The Mai Tai Bar is located on the top floor of the Ala Moana Center. This is a place where you can enjoy live music, drinking, eating at restaurants next door and also enjoy shopping at the same location. This little place gets packed quickly so I recommend you getting there early with lots of your friends and enjoy a night out after work..
If you live in the Moanalua Salt Lake area you know the barbecue smell of Soon's Korean Barbecue. I especially love their Soon's Special which is a large mix-plate delight. It is right across Aliamanu Middle School and I recommend this to those that love Korean food.
This eatery is like your little hole in the wall establishment. Known only to locals, this place is famous for their mix-plate teriyaki chicken with fried noodles. The amount of food you get can feed at least two people. The only downside is that parking is hard to find. But, is this not always the case when you find a great place to eat. Once you've tried this place you will continue to grave it. I recommend the Heights Drive-in as your next place to eat out.
My experience here is simple...delicious banana pancakes. This is one of our favorite breakfast places to eat in Aiea. I'm sure the rest of the food is good but, I only order the banana pancakes because they are my favorite. I recommend you try them when you get the chance.
Kobe's has great seafood and steak and the food is cooked right before your eyes. The Chef's are quite entertaining and the restaurant is in the beginning of Waikiki. I recommend this restaurant to those who love to eat steak.
My husband took me here for one of our anniversary's and we did the ATV rides. The ride was lots of fun and the scenery was beautiful. We were not allowed to venture on our own. The cliffs were pretty high and the liability of danger was very high. Yet they took us into the beautiful mountain range and showed us the area where they filmed the movie "Jurassic Park". It was simply breath taking. I really want to go back to do the horseback riding. They also have a wonderful place to buy a lot of souvenirs. I recommend to those who want a sense of adventure but, at a moderate level.
The famous Dee Lite Bakery is located in the heart of Kalihi in Honolulu. I look forward every Thanksgiving to having their delicious pumpkin pies. I can eat their pumpkin pies every day if I could. They also make delicious cakes and cookies. I recommend you stopping by to try out their pies...you will not regret it.
I have been eating at Zippys for over 25 years and continue to love one of my favorite local delicacy's...Hamburger steak with grilled onions. My youngest son's favorite dish is the Korean Fried Chicken and my oldest son likes the variety of foods that Zippys has to offer. Zippys also has their own bakery attached to it and is open 24 hours. I don't know any local from Hawaii that has not eaten at Zippys. Zippys prices are very reasonable. I highly recommend you take your mainland guest to eat at Zippys.
