I CRAVE seriously Venti's in downtown Salem. They serve rice bowls with a couple of different kinds of meat and have brown rice even. I love the steamed veggies. The broccoli is always crunchy and tastes so good.
My favorite meal is the lunch special with brown rice and veggies -- chicken teriyaki, dark meat, which I love -- with peanut sauce dumped all over it. It's all about that peanut sauce, too. Mmmm.
I like to take my friends here after running group on Saturdays. We sit outside on the sidewalk if possible and have healthy food that is filling and fresh. Last time I was in there I tried the falafel bowl which was really good. The hummus was killer and I had to take my leftovers, it was very rich.
The strawberry lemonade is awesome! Mmm.
The guys at Santiam Bicycle are the most knowledgeable and friendly I've come across in Salem. I have bought three bikes at Santiam and appreciated the one-on-one time, honesty and customer service each time. The best part is, I get the expertise of a crazy good bike shop with each bike -- I have needed tune ups on each bike and even had to have a wheel rebuilt twice and I didn't hesitate to go to Santiam. They freakin rock -- they are quick and have fair prices.
Not only do I completely trust the bike shop guys with my mechanical needs, but I have also purchased quite a bit of accessories, helmets, lights, socks, T-shirts, bike rack for my car... You name it.
I don't want to sound like a commercial but I have received exceptional guidance when it comes to bike trails -- road biking and mountain biking. Santiam has trail maps, road maps and other resources for novice and experienced riders. Man, we are lucky to have these guys right here in the heart of Salem.
It's a cool thing to go into a bike shop, get a friendly hello, see all ages of people, all styles of bicycling -- bmx, mountain bikers, cruisers, families with trailers on their bikes. I am always inspired when I leave.
