I came to MAPA when I was a child, so when I was pregnant I decided to bring my children here. Since I started bringing my children here, they have moved to a wonderful location. A much bigger building, easier to get to. They have a large waiting room, with several little alcoves for different purposes. One for sick children, one for regular well children, one for newborns, and one for older children(teens). My son always loves watching the fish in the huge aquarium in the wall that separates the sick, and well children. They also have TVs that play Disney movies. The nurses are always nice and helpful. Dr Childers has been great with my children. He takes time to listen to any concerns that I have. He always makes sure to make checkup appointments for anything that we have come in concerned about. He didn't once try to discourage my breast feeding of both of my children. I know there are doctors that tell the moms they need to supplement with formula when the babies are gaining weight already. The only thing that bugs me, is that he does not approve of chiropractors. We go to one, and in order for my son's insurance to cover it, we have to have a Dr's note. He won't write one. But then I have heard that most Dr's don't approve of it. When I have called in to talk to a nurse about one of my children being sick, the nurses have always been helpful. It does take forever sometimes to get to a person, but then I think most of the children's Dr's have times of long waits on the phone. If we have to see another Dr during these times, they have always treated me and my kids very well. All in all, my experience with this office, and Dr Childers has been great. And I do recommend them to other people with children.
I have gone in here a few times, and loved looking around. They have a wide variety of toys that are not found in the chain stores. Their prices are decent. They even have a wish list for the children to write what they want for their birthdays or other occasions. Whenever I needed help finding a "strange" toy, they went out of their way to find it and order it for me. Parking for downtown Black Mountain does make it hard to come here, but well worth it if you are in that area. There are also other stores that are great to walk through while you are there.
We came to north myrtle beach last year on vacation, and came up to the Cherry Grove Pier. There was a new resort right behind it. We decided then, that when we came back, we would stay here. We were not disappointed this year when we did stay here. We went to the website and checked out prices. That almost stopped us from staying here by the prices. But then, checking out a Realtor that we have used before, we found some units that were alot cheaper. Apparently, they are cheaper through other people. Anyway, we got a 3 bedroom unit on the 7th floor. It overlooked the pier and ocean. LOVED IT! There was plenty of room for us. It had a full kitchen, dining room, and living room. The balcony was a decent size also. There were a total of 2 regular size pools, 2 kiddie pools, 4 hot tubs, and a lazy river. There was also a workout room. The pools were split between the main building, and on top of the second building, which overlooked the ocean. The employees there were very helpful. Whenever we had questions, they were helpful. And when we happened to pass them on the street(as they walked from one building to the other) they always greeted us. On that section of the beach, there were always lifeguards. At least during the day. They were even training a ton of lifeguards training on two of the days we were there. Made me feel safer seeing the things they trained for. All in all, it was a great vacation and will definitely come back here again.
Came in here last summer on vacation, and just had to come in here again this summer. They are very knowledgeable about there products. Though a little pricey on the clothes, I would definitely buy them if I had the money. Most of the clothes are hand made. I fell in love with a dress that was about $100, and had to leave it behind. I might have to call them and order it. Besides some clothing, they have different kinds of Nick knacks, books, tarot cards, smaller instruments, crystals, and lots of other odds and ends. You definitely have to have an open mind to go in there though. I am going to go back next year and see what else I can find.
Everytime I go into Linda's they always seem to be helpful to me. They have a great knowledge of books, and if they don't recognize one, they just whip out a huge catalog of books, and find what you are looking for. There prices are decent for books. They even rent out newer books for $3.00 a week. I called in a pinch when I found out about a new book from a favorite author. I couldn't find it at any of the libraries, and was going on vacation the next morning. They happened to have one copy to rent, and saved it for me till I could come down and get it. I would recommend going down there for your used book needs, including trading your good condition used books.
I have only come here for the Trapt concert a couple of years ago, but i loved it. We even got to meet the group and get autographs, and weren't swamped by a few thousand other fans. I look on their website weekly to see what group or singer is going to be there. They have a HUGE variety of people come there. It is a smaller more intimate venue. They do serve beer. The parking is a little bit annoying as it is downtown. But I think the Orange Peel is better than going to the civic center, and not being able to barely see the person on stage. Can't wait to go again.
The regular menu is priced pretty good. The kids meals are all $5.50, which I think is a little much. The food is good though, and the service is also. I had the gyro, and it was very yummy. The Greek salad that came with it had eggs on it, which I have never seen on one before, but that just added to the flavor. My husband had the Parmesan chicken sandwich, and he loved it. They also have nightly specials. I will definitely go here again.
Shirley's has great breakfasts. The prices here are reasonable, and the atmosphere is great. It is a small restaurant. The people there are pleasant. The food is good. If you like country cooking you should definitely try this place.
We went here last summer with my family. This consists of me, and my husband, two young children(4 and 8), my mother(50) and my grandmother(80). There was really only one ride that all of us could not ride on. I have been to other parks that had alot of things my kids could not ride on. I definitely want to go again.
I came here for my second tattoo. Tree took two different patterns(that literally took forever for me to find) and put them together. After adding things, and taking things off, it was perfect. I had the outline done that same day. He was cool to talk to and joke around with. He made sure I knew exactly how to take care of it when I went home. I went back a couple months later, and for the color filled in. No matter how many times I asked his opinion on colors, he only helped me a little. He wanted me to pick out my own colors, so I wouldn't be sorry later on. He also touched up my other tattoo that I had done. I will definitely go back to him if I ever decide to get another one, and I recommend him to anyone who is thinking about getting one. His prices are also reasonable. He is a little flaky about being at the studio on time in the afternoon though. So call in advance to make sure he is there, if you go early in the day.
