Restaurant is done nicely and reminds me of being in a lodge or a bar out West somewhere. Stan (owner) is a very friendly man and is attentive to his customers. Have had pizza all my life and with the exception of a couple places in Chicago, this is the best pizza I've had recently. Also a gym sized game room with basketball court, table tennis, bean bag games, and billiards off of the main restaurant area. Highly recommend!
PROS: Can't find a better pizza unless you're in Chicago.
CONS: Bar stools not comfortable, and SMOKY!
Menu is easy to decipher with descriptions of the meals. At least twenty beers to choose from with a few on draft. Have had the chicken, burgers, roll-ups, and soups. Very good food--especially the constantly changing home made (style?) soups. Prices are reasonable and when having lunch with a few beers can get out around $15. Great view of the east shore of Pine Lake also.
PROS: Good food, larger portions.
CONS: Room can get VERY LOUD with only a few people there and gets stifling from cigarette smoke too.
Read an article in the paper that Reed's State Street Pub was under new ownership. I hadn't been to Reed's in about two years because of one simple reason--HORRIBLE SERVICE. When I heard numerous people throughout the community voice the same complaint, I knew it wasn't just me. Figured that things might change with new ownership, so I took the wife out this Friday for dinner. Well things haven't changed--service was the worst that I've had out anywhere in the past few years. Nothing like waiting for 10 minutes at your table before waitstaff even comes over--and they weren't that busy. I could make better food at home--don't waste your time here.
PROS: nice remodel
CONS: horrible service, even with Reed gone
