Flooring Gallery of Mt Myers
A very nice small flooring store that gives you great service and lots of selection for a decent price. We were able to match our floor tiles to replace carpeting between our bedroom and bath. The installation was done by the owner's husband and he did an excellent job. Highly recommend.
Anthony's Trattoria
Really amazing authentic Italian food. The pizza is right out of NYC with perfectly prepared crust. Order anything with the Vodka sauce! Pasta's are delicious also. Nice selection of wines. Prices are reasonable for what you get which is very generous portions. The waitstaff is friendly and very helpful with recommendations, etc...You will love this place!
Sundance Saloon & Steakhouse
This restaurant will make you feel like you are out west (except of course the lovely view of the golf course and the expansive greens). The ribs are excellent- falling off the bone. Good steaks, burgers and sandwiches. Prices are what you would expect for this type of food (comparible to Lonestar or Outback).
Koreshan State Historic Site
A very nice campground or place to go for a one-day experience. Our group went for a cookout and had two very knowledgeable people tell us about how the Koreshans came to live there and some of their experiences. A nice piece of undeveloped land in a very busy part of Florida.
Ymca
A truly excellent camp. Located relatively close to the metro area, it is easily accessible. The cabins are well furnished and equipped with attached shower/lavatory areas. The mess hall is spacious and appealing, and the cooking is quite good. The staff are simply superb, overseeing organized fun with friendliness and vigor. Drawn from around the world, (my counselors came from Sweden, Switzerland, and England, respectively) they exude happiness and display a sense of real cameraderie within their ranks and with the campers. The camp is equipped with a tidy swimming area, numerous sports fields, a high ropes course, a score of kayaks and canoes, and beautiful scenery. Events include bonfires and a campwide game of capture-the-flag. This camp is a true marvel.
Camp Arbutus Hayo-Went-Ha
Located on stunning Torch Lake, recognized by National Geographic as one of the world's most beautiful, the camp is blessed with an abundance of natural splendor. The almost constant cooling breeze ensures a comfortable climate and bug-free evenings. Outdoor amenities include a beach, swin area, and zipline. The cabins and shower areas are quite rustic, but are liveable enough. The mess hall (which lies some distance from the cabins) is clean and efficiently maintained; the cuisine isn't anything great but will suffice for hungry campers. The staff is friendly and helpful but not always easy to communicate with, as many hail from foreign lands. Overall, I found Hayo-Went-Ha to be an excellent provider of the classic camping experience.
Metzger's German Restaurant
Metzger's has some really good authentic German food. The saurbraten and spatzen are wonderful. Good sausages and weinershnitzel too. Also has outdoor dining which is nice when the weather is good. Good prices for really good food.
Dexter Bakery
Bread, doughnuts, cookies and other baked goods can be found and are made fresh daily. The best item to get while you are here are the homemade pretzels. They are large, fluffy and have the perfect partnership with salt crystals. Prices are low and the items fulfilling.
Dibella's Old Fashion Subs
Fabulous, large subs that are extremely tasty and economical. You will definately return to savor the delicious subs made with fresh, homemade bread. Small subs start under $5. This is the first NY Sub shop in Michigan. Love the Italian sub, comes with plentiful amount of meat and cheese.
Baja Peninsula
This place is incredible. Breakfast is amazing. Try the lemon ricotta pancakes topped with fresh strawberries or the eggs benedict. The perfect start to a day. They also serve lunch and dinner. It has a varied menu with something for everyone with the freshest ingredients. The chef is from Beverly Hills and offers up delicious specials tool. Priced moderately but well worth it!
