Pamida's is your typical grocery store, maybe not quite as large. It's the main chain in the UP. You don't get as many choices here for food items, but you can usually find what your looking for. The prices are alittle bit higher also.
If your looking for a great sandwich, Ralphs is the place to stop. We would go to deer camp quite often and stop here for sandwiches to take with us. They have the biggest pickles I've ever seen. You also could buy pasties here.
Shopped here many times while visiting the UP. Always could find what we needed here. They had a conveyor belt to take your grocerys out front if you needed help, which I thought was neat. The employess who worked here seemed like they new everybody that came in.
This bar has been around forever. It's an older bar and a little run down, but a great place in town for a beer. They have the typical bar food which was good, and the bartender was real chatty. We had a crowd and were loud, so we made sure to leave a great tip.
I like all Best Westerns including this one. This one is right one of the main highways, so you do hear some car noise. The pros about this hotel is you are close to a MacDonalds (breakfast, lunch, dinner) grocery store and many other stores within walking distance. The staff here was very nice!
Stayed at this little motel a few time when visiting the UP. Its an older motel and the prices were good. There is a nice restaurant within walking distant you can go for breakfast. They have a basketball court for the kids, but no pool.
Great Pasties! We always stop here on our way home from the UP. The pasties are always fresh and warm. We eat them for lunch on our long journey. The prices are great and the pasties are huge.
Nice old church, was here for a funeral last year. The choir sang during the mass and was very good. The service was nice and the priest did a good job about talking about the deceased. The luncheon was right after the service and the food was good. The volunteers made sure everybody had what they needed.
My kids great grandmother lived here for many years until she died. She had many friends here and her sister also lived here. We had a huge 90th birthday party for her in the recreation room. The staff was very helpful and let us stay late. (we were from out of town). The apartments were nice and the view from the upper apartments, you could see the city.
My grandmother was in Cambridge when she died. She was pretty happy here and had many friends. She like to play cards with her friends. The staff treated her well. They made sure to call all her family when she got really bad, and we were able to be with her when she died. I'm glad I had that opportunity.
