Lark Books, a publisher in Asheville, publishes unique literature based around the arts. From glass blowing to sock monkeys, they've published over 300 books and have an impressive list yet to come.
The Bistro a private conference/dining room as well as a private family-style dining room in addition to a modern styled lounge, street front. I give the food a lower rating, only because the ambiance seems to upstage the cuisine. Though the have some of the most beautiful dishes in town, there really isn't anything extraordinary on the menu. That being said, the prices are certainly fair for the overall experience.
Blue Ridge Music offers lessons from some very talented local musicians. From bluegrass to rock, you can take lessons for most popular instruments. You can also pick up strings and extraneous parts here.
Kim's is one of those markets where you'll find whole tamarind, lemon grass, and just about any kind of mushroom you could want. They also have a nice variety of odd drinks and sweets.
The Biltmore gym is just up from Biltmore village right off Biltmore Ave. They've a large amount of parking and it's easy to get in and out, even when it's busy. They have a decent selection of equipment and it's never crowded. They also have a cedar steam room which is really nice after a workout.
Few chiropractors have left me with the feeling that an issue has been fixed. Kordonowy uses the ProAdjuster, a device that measures the amount of imbalance down both sides of your spine, allowing the chiropractor to adjust accordingly. When I've had any issue, sprained ankle, unable to turn my head, muscle issues, Kordonowy has been able to address it. Another aspect, hard to find in any doctor, is the common sense analogies he can offer to any question you have relating to your particular circumstance.
Dr. Knollman is located off Chun's Cove Rd and every nook has a great view. I'm not fond of drills, but it helps when there's a nice view. Knollman is up-front with his patients and understands that sometimes other things have to come before dental work. When you ask him for an order of importance, you get straight-forward, honest answers.
I love going in this store just to look at different takes on sources of light. They have handmade candles, lamps made from recycled materials, paper lanterns, cloth lanterns - it's a little nook, but the variety is surprising.
Formerly known as the Cottonwood Cafe, Fiore's is located downtown across from the courthouse. When you order a salad here, it's more like a meal, a really large meal. In fact, when my husband and I last ate here, we had to box most of our dinner because the salad was massive, and you have to have the Tiramisu or the experience just isn't complete without it.
If you really want to try just about everything on the menu, Wanpen has a buffet Tuesday through Friday and again on Sunday (they're closed on Mondays). The Pad Thai is my favorite dish with the Tofu Tod my second. Ask for a spice rack or have them spice it up for you. Just be prepared - if you ask for Thai spicy, that's exactly what you'll get.
