If you are into authentic Irish food this is the place to go. We discovered recently that they also have a very good breakfast menu. Give it a try. You'll like it!
I discovered this delightful shop last week. They have many unique gift ideas for the garden and gardener. I found an evergreen plant that I never seen before and have it in my garden now. If you want something special for your garden, this is the place to go!
The Parrot was THE local soda fountain hand-out for high school kids when I went there in the 40's. Last summer, during a trip to Helena, I visited the Parrot once more and was delighted to find it virtually unchanged in the past 60 years (except perhaps the prices). The decor is the same, the counter stools, all of it. What a wonderful piece of Americana which has been preserved. In addition to all the fountain treats, hamburgers, etc., the Parrot sells superb confections--how about mountain huckleberry chocolates. This is a "MUST" place to visit in Helena.
Spyro's Gyros is located in a small building in the grocery store parking lot in Des Moines. They have a few tables indoors, and a few more outdoors, but their business seems to be mostly take-out. The meals I have had there, and brought home, have all been very good. I would highly recommend this establishment to anyone. It is advisable to call ahead to make sure when they are open, and to place an order if you want take out.
La Costca has been in the same location in Burien for many years and I have eaten there more times than I can count. The food is consistently good, with huge portions. The servers have always been pleasant. We've usually had combo plates that include your choice of entree, beans and salad. Chips and chips always come as soon as you are seated and they make a mean margarita. They have live music on Friday and Saturday nights.
I have always been a bit afraid around lawyers until I met Joe McGoran about 4 years ago. He was a great help to me during my husband's final illness and after his death. I have a good feeling about where I stand legally now and am very comfortable talking with Joe about legal things as they come up. He is very down to earth and sincere.
I had Jack Kibbe repair and paint my deck last month. He replaced boards that were bad, pressure washed it, put a sealer coat on and then put on deck paint. I am pleased with the result and would hire him again.
Our first experience with the Teak House was when we got take-out last night. It was WONDERFUL. My family loves Thai food but we haven't had good luck with take out recently. The Teak House will surely be our number 1 choice from now on. The seasonings were just right, the vegetables still crisp and the peanut sauce (my favorite) perfect. For 3 of us we had 4 entrees and there was enough left for all of us to have lunch the next day.
The Hair Hut is on the owners property in a small one-person shop. I have been going to Julie for years and have always been very happy with everything she has done for me. In addition to being a delightful person, she lives on a beautiful property and with her husband breeds and raises horses. If that is not talent enough, she also makes lovely jewelry to sell. A trip to the Hair Hut is always a great pleasure.
This is the place to find everything for your yard and landscaping. They have anything from truck loads of soil, compost, various rocks--you name it. Or you can buy any type planting mix in easy to handle bags. They also have a great gift shop. I even bought my pre-lit Christmas tree there 2 years ago. It is a fun place to shop.
