This little Indian gem, located on the lower level of Union Station, has the best Indian food I have ever tasted! They offer many traditional Indian dishes, including Panir and Goolab Jammons, they also have Indian sodas and puris and chapptis...WOW...and the prices are great and the owners are very nice and attentive...check it out
The Daily Grill is a great place to get grill fare with an urban twist. Try the pan fried trout and the spinach mashed potatoes, the desserts are really awesome, especially the carrot cake. Great place to get a late bite to eat, and have a strong drink! Always crowded, super hip, a must visit...
We frequented this restaurant when we stayed at the Hamilton Crowne Plaza the last time we were in DC. Prices were average for the area, the restaurant was clean and well appointed, the staff was very friendly and professional. Breakfast is great, especially the Sunday brunch, and the desserts are divine.
Spear's is sort of a Linville Falls tradition, they serve a pretty good rainbow trout...I had gone there a lot as a child, so I was excited to share the restaurant with my family. What a disappointment...the staff was very rude, the owner and his waiter/son were having a huge arguement in the dining room throughout our meal. When we asked if they could make a grill cheese for our young child, they scoffed and told us to go across the street to a diner. The prices were absolutely ridiculous, and the food was average. Don't waste your time, Loiuse's is across the street and works just fine!
Louise's restaurant actually sits on the side of road, at the apex of four counties...so one section of the dining room is actually in a different county than the others. They have basic diner fare, all fairly good. The homemade jams and pies are outstanding, and the people are great. The prices are very reasonable
The Blue Ridge soap shed is a neat little shop that offers a wide variety of handmade soaps, bath salts, candles, etc. The products are all natural and they have wonderful scents. Be sure to check them out!
What a neat little store...great place to find those rare books, or interesting objects 'd arte! The Cafe has limited hours, but the food is great, and sometimes they offer live music.
The Upper Street Cafe, located in downtown Spruce Pine, is a great place to grab a quick, delicious lunch. The staff is always friendly and the price is just right. Soups and salads are made fresh daily.
Mountain View restaurant offers delicous entrees, served by very friendly staff for reasonable prices. Be sure to sample the rainbow trout...a wonderful dining experience with incredible views.
The Chalet restaurant, located in the Little Switzerland Inn, offers a traditional, family style menu with a fresh, updated twist. The Sunday morning buffet is awesome, and the views are to die for!
