I went out of town for a week and boarded my puppy at this facility. I was extremely nervous about leaving my puppy expecially since I had only had him for a little over a month. The day before my trip I dropped him off and I had a chance to see where he would be staying. I was sad about leaving him but I felt that he would be taken care of. I spoke with Garen, the owner, several times during my trip and he would always tell me how cute my puppy was and how great he was doing.
Once I returned, I called Garen and told him that I would be in to pick my puppy up. When I got there Garen informed me that his paws were a little gray. What a understatement!! When I saw my puppy I was so upset and was not even sure if he was my dog. Not only was his paws gray but so was his whole body! He was filthy and reeked of urine!! I told Garen that he was dirty and what he smelled like and he claimed he could not tell. I was highly upset to say the least. I could not wait to get out of there so I could give him a bath. Before leaving I asked about his toy which Garen recommeded that I bring. At first he acted like he did not recall me bringing a toy then once he remembered he tried to tell me that my puppy chewed it up, which I knew was a lie. Then he told me that I would not have wanted it back any way because "those things carry a lot of bacteria", which may be true but he should have just told me that the toy was as filthy as my dog!
What upsets me the most is that this is a boarding AND grooming facility, so I do understand why they would leave my puppy dirty and smelling of pee ! And especially since he knew I was coming to pick him up ! I did not take him there in that condition nor should I have received him in that condition. Misty Meadows may do well with keeping dogs for a few days but obviously not for a week.
