Alan's Fine Footwear
My daughter and her 2 bride maids had purchased their shoes for the wedding from Allan's Fine Footwear. Needless to say, entering the store the girls thought, from the FALSE advertisement, they were going to have the largest selection of dye able shoes in the tri-state area. The selection that Allan's had was NO WHERE close to the so called largest selection in the tri-state area. If they had 20 pairs of shoes to choose from they were lucky. The bridal collection Allan's Fine Footwear offered was horrible. Needless to say, in fear the girls wouldn't find a store to only dye shoes, they picked out a style. The shoes cost the bridesmaids over $75 EACH and my daughter over $80. If that wasn't enough, they proceeded to charge EACH of the girls $25 to dye them on top of the extremely high shoe cost. My daughter was away for the weekend the shoes were ready for pick up so I went to pick them up for her. I entered the store and asked for the Store Manager to ask why he charged the girls $75 total to dye 3 pairs of shoes, when the majority of other bridal shops do not charge a fee at all.The Manager just listened, but in the course of the conversation the Owner walked in and said "If you need to talk to anyone, you talk to me". I wanted to explain my problem and concern for the girls and the response I got was, "No you listen to me".He was arrogant, defensive, rude and greedy for a business owner. He would not let me speak until he was done defending his $25 charge. I continued to explain that I could understand the cost if the girl had not purchased their shoes from him, but since they did, at a very high cost (which the shoes were not worth) but he did not want to listen. The same shoes were found at other bridal shops in New Jersey for over $25 less than what she paid for them, and were dyed for free. When my daughter returned from her trip, she looked at the shoes and was very disappointed. Her shoes had lace and rhinestones on them and the lace was shredding and causing it to fuzz up and all of the rhinestones looked dirty. The girls also purchased shoe grips for the bottom of the shoes, which they were told would be applied to the shoe after it was dyed. Again, false information given as when the shoes were picked up the grips were still in there package and were not applied to the shoes.I would not recommend ANYONE to go to Allan's for any type of their fine footwear needs. I wish I knew the owner was an arrogant, money hungry rip off business owner before my daughter and her bride maid's shoes were bought and paid for because he is the LAST person I would want to give my business too.
