I ordered a cheese ravioli pasta dish that was served wtih grilled chicken and walnuts. It was very good! The side salad was nice, because it contained good things such as spinach and almonds. It also came with french bread. This restuarant is very pricey and the wait staff could be a little better. My waitress seemed very occupied and didn't enjoy smiling. But I would probably go there again If I happened to be visiting the Amherst area.
I thought this place was awful! I was disappointed. From the outside, it looked like it would be a nice place to eat. A friend and I stopped there for breakfast. For one thing, the plates, cups, and silverware were all the disposable kind. The inside looked like a cafeteria and the seats were uncomfortable. We ordered some pancakes, which we thought were very bland. I also tried a bacon and cheese omelet. The bacon in my omelet wasn't even chopped up and the cheese they used was plain old American Cheese. I believe most other restaurants use cheddar or provolone in their omelets. Oh, and our waitress never came around to check on us and my friend had to ask another server for a refill on his coffee. I too had to ask another restaurant employee (not our waitress) for ketchup for my home fries. Needless to say, we were not impressed at all with this place and would never go back!
I've been to Lindy's Diner many times. They do hire a few good waitresses. But I've had several that are not very friendly and have gotten my order wrong multiple times. Or it could have been the cook's fault. Who knows? The food is also just okay. I've had better Diner food at other places. But the 50's Diner Atmosphere is rather nice. I myself prefer eating at Timoleon's, which is another local eatery in Keene, NH.
I really like this place. The atmosphere is pleasant and warm and inviting. My hairstylist is very friendly. Her name is Kate. :-) And she does a fantastic job! Some would find this place to be pricey, but that is what one should expect from a salon that does a fine job. I would recommend this salon to anyone who is looking for a trendy hip place where the stylists know how to cut hair.
They say a restaurant's or cafe's atmosphere can make all the difference. I believe that is true. Nightsky Coffee House has a wonderful atmosphere. They have local art work on their walls. They have a fireplace in the cafe. The cafe's ceilings are painted with moons and stars. The ceiling lamps are even decorated with stars. And besides the atmosphere, the coffee and desserts are very tasty. This coffee houses is located in downtown Troy. Teens and adults alike love this place. They also have live music on some weekends. And while there, you can purchase a t-shirt with funny phrases such as, "Decaf Dad" or "frothy." Their prices for food and coffee can be a bit pricey though.
This restaurant has been in business since 1935! A lot has not changed since the 30's. The prices are reasonable and the food is yummy, although it isn't at all fat free! They have frostys, burgers, fries, onion rings, milk shakes, soup, and a whole bunch of other stuff. They only downfall is that they don't make homemade pies. But many of the soups are homemade (I got inside information). You will find many regular customers that make an appearance every day. I guess the food is addicting. This hamburger shop is located in downtown Troy, which gives it an added local appeal.
I thought the thrift store had a nice variety of clothes and shoes, although, it does have very limited household furniture and items. It contains mostly clothes, shoes, and jewelry. You may drop off items to donate or sell. If you plan on selling them, the thrift store gets a percentage of whatever sells. Then they send you a check in the mail.
