Tucked in right around the corner from the Stock Exchange is this roomy bar with quite a tasty array of fried goodness. the calimari in particular is worth a try. Downside is there is a good chance of rubbing elbows with drunken obnoxious suits, unsurprising given the proximity to financial ground zero.
Cool place to hang out, have some beers (cheap Miller High Lifes), check out whatever art they've got up, sit with some friends at a back table, or have your picture taken in the photo booth in the back room. There is also a small downstairs area with a bar and occasional live music.
For all you vinyl enthusiasts who got burned buying used records online that weren't necessarily in the condition they were advertised as, get out of the house and peruse the collection here. Jazz, blues, classical, rock etc. Not ridiculously priced either. There are also plenty of cds, cassettes, movies and memorobilia. Worth a trip!
As in the video game! This place rules, big open space and the walls are lined with tons of old school arcade games at the original price of a measly quarter. Take a trip down memory lane, and have a few beers in the process.
A murky den with state-themed burgers on the cheap! Sit at a booth with friends or go stag at the bar and watch a ballgame. pretty decent tunamelt too.
Tasty bar food at a decent price. The pizza is surprisingly good! Free live music most nights, usually of the jazz variety. Play darts, watch a ballgame. Would like to see a bit larger beer selection though.
I love this place! Diner-type menu but much, much better than diner-quality food. Great place for brunch, or sit at the bar and have a few decent beers on the cheap. (Old Speckled Hen $4!) The cheesecake is highly recommended.
A cool, dark and no-nonsense bar with a killer happy hour. $2 off all drinks. ALL DRINKS! some seating available outside as well, for the smoker or peoplewatcher in you.
Cool and cozy local DUMBO bar, situated in part of an old warehouse. Very friendly and accomodating staff and of course, free snacks! Usually goldfish crackers. Man, I love free snacks.
A nice cheap night out, if you want to see some free bluegrass or country music. On the small side and can get fairly crowded. Sound is okay, depends on the night. Cheap PBR and High Life tallboys, though last time I was there they did not have any cold.
