I particularly recommend the omokase, or chef's choice. It consists of 6-10 courses of whatever the chef has planned. If you like surprises and trying new things this is the way to go. It has been a while, but last time I was there it cost approximately $100 per person, which was quite reasonable for the meal we had.
Two notes: (1) definitely make reservations, it is a popular place and (2) there are two omokase menus, the "special pre-order" one and the regular one. I have only had the regular one, so that is what I am reviewing.
I am recommending this clinic based on their contact lens expertise and ordering experience. Richard, their contact lens specialist, listened to my needs and recommended several types of lenses. He have me samples of each to take home and try out for a couple of weeks. Ordering lenses through them is a breeze, just place a phone call and then either pickup or have them shipped.
I have seen Dr. Hovander for my eye exams for several years, and just recently purchased a pair of glasses from them. The selection is pretty good (I've seen both better and worse) and Paul was very patient and helpful to me.
I have been going to Dr. Wallace for regular cleanings for about 3 years now. The hygenists who perform the cleanings are efficient and alert for signs of trouble. As I've been lucky enough not to have trouble, I have had less contact with Dr. Wallace himself, but he has always been attentive and listens to what came of the time with the hygenist. The front desk staff is amazing -- if you request they will happily slip you in if there are cancellations, and they send a postcard every six months as a reminder, which I appreciate -- keeps my bookkeeping to a minimum.
This is a reasonably upscale salon, but it lacks the condescension or pressure to purchase additional products that sometimes fancier places can have. Unfortunately my haircut was disappointing. The stylist was attentive and listened to what I said, and started out great, but once we reached the goal, she kept cutting! My recommendation would be to pay attention, watch what is happening, and speak up before things take a turn for the worse.
