If you are looiking for a good location for a happy hour deal or a very good dinner, then Monterey Bay Canners is the place. Located right on the harbor in Oceanside. You can watch the ships come in and watch all the other activity that happens are the harbor.
They have a great outdoor patio(s) - one facing the main harbor entrance and the other facing the docks. We love their trout dishes.
Highly recommended. For a dinner for two or a celebration of many - they can service your needs.
Vista Entertainment Center, located on Vista Way Drive in downtown Vista has been around for a while. The have a full bowling alley on the first floor and the upstairs is games and a bar.
I would suggest for families that you go during the day - leave the night time for the rougher group.
Pier View Bar (or Bud's Dive) is a place that the locals hang out - they do not have mixed drinks.
Pool tables and darts available.
Short walk from the pier.
Tremont Street Bar & Grill, located in downtown Oceanside at Tremont Street and Pier View Way, is a small, but nice Bar and Grill.
Food is good and the prices of drinks reasonable.
Pool Tables are available.
Locals go here.
The "Rusty Spur" is located in downtown Oceanside on Pier View Way. It is a good place to go. Locals hangout here as well as tourist.
Not very large - but the bartenders are good.
The "Main Attraction", located on North Pacific Coast Highway - right across from the California Welcome Center, is nothing but an over priced strip club. The started out purple in color - but thank goodness the outside colors changed to something more reasonable. The thought they were 'in' being so close to a military base.
D C's Across The Street is located on Brooks Street, south of Mission Avenue. They have been around for many, many years. Only a few locals go there. It is a smaller, older place.
The "Village Pub", located on State Street in downtown Carlsbad, is where the locals go to kick back, enjoy a drink and to socialize.
Kinda small - but good prices.
Karl Strauss Brewery, located on Armardo St. in Carlsbad, is a great place. Good food. Good drinks. The interior decor is pleasing. Many choices of beers.Recommended.
The "Alley" is a great little place. You can either park on the street, which is limited, or you can park in the alley - which has amble room.
The "Alley" looks small on the outside, but is very nicely done on the inside. They even have a piano and player for your enjoyment.
Food and drinks are reasonable.
